Disavowing links saved my website position !

Hi hats,

Previously :

I purchased some PBN's backlinks on Fiverr (with uniques contents and images) for one of my websites, these PBN's weren't rly spammy at a first look (Moz spam score < 4) but a few days later it did a very bad impact on my website and I lost my rank, even some pages lost their indexation (For more details the previous post : https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/pbn-backlinks-fiver-maybe-not-a-good-idea.973061/ )

Most of the people who answered to my post advised me to wait more before thinking to disavow the links and I even felt some of them being suspicious about the disavow option.

To resolve the problem :

But I followed my decision, and I started stalking all my backlinks on different free services from google search which try to detect your bad backlinks. Most of my backlinks were "medium / ok", a few were in "can be a little bit risky but not so much" and I disavoyed all of the "can be a little bit risky" ones.

Now : My position is growing fast to its high previous position.

I'm sharing this experience for people who might pass across the same situation and would hesitate to try the disavow option !

also don't think it was the disallowing ..... what was the time from. disallowing and the ranking start to rise again ?

Well I didn't change anything on my website, I just disavowed the bad links.

I was rank #(10-8) constantly during months then falled down suddenly to #96 for a few days, disavowed links, and the position came back.

I didn't but some new good ones would've helped I think.

we had the same issue with bad links that really hurt our sites - just now starting to recover, used the disavow method as well

Disavow DOES in fact work, it just depends on the situation. It does look to me, however, that OP hasn't got his impressions back. I would guess he lost keywords overall, might want to check that.

Those links were already checked on Moz concerning their spam score and it was ok, but I checked them also on several free tools directly from google search and disavowed all the possibly risked ones.
