What Does It Do?

Phoenix Twitter Desktop is a continuation of my project formally know as just "Twitter Friend Adder". Essentially it has the exact same function, but many added features and many things to come. If you have ever used my Twitter Friend Adder then i recommend you download this immediately as it is a continuation of that.

Features :

* Add friends based on keywords
* Add friends of other users
* Schedule tweets from a txt file on your computer

About The Installer :

The setup is a simple install file that then downloads the files from the install directory on my server. The application also comes complete with an auto updater. Meaning that whenever you start the application on your computer it will check my server for updates. If there is updates then it will auto download/install and will continue on. I cannot see anything about your computer, nor can i edit the registry or your file system. If you are worried about it, dont download it and save us both the trouble.

To uninstall just go to add/remove programs and remove it. It will remove all traces of the files .

So far, I can get everything working except the scheduler.. (getting an error)
Just uninstalled .Net and Reinstalled latest version from the link you gave, still getting the error, so now trying windows updates for .net to get the latest service pack in case that'll do the trick..

I loaded the file (with only one line in it to test) and it says it tweeted, but doesn't show up on my twitter profile as being tweeted... anyway, I'm hoping the update will fix..

While I'm downloading ... I have a couple of questions..

Firstly.. in the Scheduler..
The file that it loads.. do you need to set it up as "one tweet per line"?
Or does it use a symbol or something to separate the tweets?

Secondly.. in both the Scheduler and the Friend Adder.. what are the "time" increments?
ie: (1 second, 1 minute, 1 hour, 1 day)?
Scheduler: [A] Time Between Tweets (1)
Friend Adder: Sleep Time (1)

But I have no luck.I have installed NET framevord 3.5 with some updated service pack.
But I have the following error that parametr length less than 0.

Any Idea what can I do with that?

Probably I help myself
Remove your soft from my pc and install Windows Installer 4.5 probably this version.
and no error now.
WINDOWS XP 64 bit version.

Sorry guys, i had to go to sleep. If you wait about 5 mins ill push an update, so just restart the application.

The tweet scheduler is a bit dodgy i must admit, and i dont personally use it. Ill give it another once over.

Also there was an issue with the friend adder where when it had finished its job, you then had to hit stop then start again to get it going. You couldnt just press go. So ill fix that aswell.

Like i say, give me five minutes then you can update the software.

EDIT : The tweetscheduler is having issues because twitter is. Im sending the EXACT right API call, but twitter is just swallowing it and sending back a blank response. Still working on it.

twitter sheduler told me that post send but no post in my tweetter account.
have no idea why, some days ago I use some web service for the mass post sender.
Server site inform me that all my mesages was send but in my account it was nothing. It started some days ago, or if I choose send mesage from 20 acounts they send only from 5-8 acc.

Just pushing an update now, then all of it should work.

Twitter changed the way it processed headers, and one of the default headers that .net sends wasnt being liked by twitter. So all fixed and it all should work. Fingers crossed anyway. Worked fine for me

The is correct for now. However in a future update i will be able to work them into a different space (Maybe today). This is basically just the initial release, make sure updating is working, all the functions work by themselves. Then i can start adding new things in.

It may seem like i rushed the release a bit, which i probably did by a short mark. But I really needed to stress test this baby and see how we went.

First off... Great job.. few things.. is there a way to have it not say "API" as the sending app.. Also why do you limit the time between tweets to 120 minutes? Let it go higher, I prefer to trickle my affiliate links.. Anyone else think it should go higher ?

Well.... I didnt think people would want to leave their computer on more then like 24 hours. I can increase it for you no problem, just didnt think anyone would want it. Also, i would think you should be mixing in some real tweets in there, but either way.

And no, there is no way . I can get an API key for the application, but somehow i doubt they will give me one. And other then that there isnt really much i can do about it , I could make it navigate the web interface, but that isnt something i intend to do anytime soon.

Down the bottom of every twitter page, there is a link called "goodies" go there. And they have a bunch of widgets that you can use.

Thanks for the update, things seem to be working more smoothly now..
although I still can't get the scheduler to work for me (no error now, just not posting) but in regards to my last question.. what format to put in the text file for the scheduler? One tweet per line?

Also, I'd also be very much be interested in a longer scheduled time.. Id rather do my scheduled tweets over days, weeks, and months (on tweetlater i have several "quote of the days" twitter accounts, that I setup to run for the next year.. like to do the work in a weekend and then leave it to do its own thing, just logging in occassionally to add different things, but people are signing up to those accounts purely for that particular niche quote of the day, not my babble)

The problem with tweetlater is adding each tweet one at a time and setting the date etc.. then waiting for the page to reload.. takes me hours to setup the year's quotes.. if I could find a program that I just set and forget, put all the tweets in and schedule them for the next 6-12 months.. I'd be in heaven.. not sure if that's a direction you want to go in though )

Ill look into it again, it definitely worked for me (Anyone following my twitter account would have had plenty of babble to deal with ).

Well, i warned people about long time schedulers before. The problem is that you would have to leave your computer running (And the application) on for the duration of that time. Probably not something people want to deal with.

I know tweetlater has an API and that could be something to work with down the pipeline. Maybe automating the tweetlater process.

O and yes, one tweet per line.
