The Skimm has over 5 million subscribers?!

Any idea how the Skimm get so many subscribers within a couple years? They only had $3,000 to start with. I want to do what they did.

Any ideas? Did they find a work around the Can-Spam Act? they said somewhere that they spend a lot of money on lawyers.
