SEO improvement for E-Commerce Website

Hi everybody,

I own an e-commerce website which I have been working on and doing some site optimization using simple wordpress plugin like Yoast for the past year. I then bought some backlinks/articles on Fiverr but so far the results in getting my website ranked have been pretty disappointing. At the moment I spend around 200$ on Adwords to get google visibility but this is really just a short-term work-around and I really want to rank better organically. I only really need 1-2 keywords to rank as I sell just a couple of very specific products.

I see on BHW there are a lot of SEO sellers/packages available, and I was wondering if you could please advise what services would you advise to go for in order to buy powerful backlinks and anything similar that can help getting some juice to my my website? I guess diversification is important, so I am looking for more than one seller I guess.

Getting ranking improvement for E-commerce sites is really difficult as most the keywords have high to medium competition. You need to have a different strategy to be on the top pages of Google.

Checking your competitor backlinks is must and you need to build more quality links in order to outrank them. Also, you need to have a viral contents every now and then to drive traffic as well.

Is your overall goal SEO or traffic in general? I agree with Take Actions response. Additionally, make sure your money is well spent in Adwords. There are sooo many variables and options, and even one or two can drastically the outcome of your CTR.

This is assuming you've already optimized Yoast to the fullest with image metatags, a proper XML page, proper configuration of your domain, etc.

This will depend on your niche and how competitive it is, and on your budget.

The first step which is very important in SEO is to define realistic expectations.

Yes there are a lot of packages available, which an experienced SEO can understand well. But the service you need is a site audit followed by an SEO plan for the next 6-12 months, including onpage and offpage optimizations, among other things. As this is a long-term game.

For E-commerce site you have to build good authority backlinks.
You have to build links to both for your Homepage and inner pages.
You have to concentrate on your products, product images, and description.
Build niche relevant backlinks from Guest blogs.
Mainly you have to concentrate on your keywords.
Long tail keywords are more effective to your site. So try long tail keywords.
And if you have main kws check the competition and build links according to that.

Thank you everybody for the replies, I will try to provide more info here.

I did spend quite a lot of time on optimizing my product pages and managed to have them all in green on Yoast for the keywords I needed (I guess that's good?). I did notice however that for example the "Product Category" pages had were not optimized as they have no description at all. I added description for all categories this morning and got them also "green", however for aesthetics purposes I don't want the descriptions to be displayed in the product category pages and so I hid them using a CSS - I wonder if this is ok for SEO purposes, or would these "hidden" descrptions not have any effect?
I have 9 articles so far on my website (all optimized for SEO) that I got written.
I used Google Console to check for syntax errors, etc. and fixed them.
I had Hostgator (my hosting provider) doing a mobile version of the site (I pay 5$/month for it).

At the moment however only 20% of my traffic comes from organic search. 50% comes from paid traffic (Adwords) and the remainder 30% manly from social networks (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).

For in site SEO optimization at the moment I only use the free version of Yoast as my products keywords are really specific (synomimous are rarely used), should I still purchase the Premium version?

In regards to analysing my competitors backlinks, which tool should I use to start with?

Regarding outside services for backlinking, etc., where would you start from?
