Best tool to check competitor's backlinks?

Hey guys,
Obviously I want to rank higher than my competitor for specific keywords, so I tried some online tools to check their backlink profile. The thing is, every tool gives me different results, some give me 0 backlinks for a specific site, while others tell me the site has 120000000000 backlinks (yes, that was the exact number...).
So quick question: How do you analyze your competitor's backlink profile?

As stated above, you can try ahref, semrush. I would like to know which one you tried before that gave you the 120billion backlinks

btw that number is total bull** if you want an accurate number of indexed pages for your searched keyword type this &start=990 at the end of searched url it tells you how many is exactly indexed

Less links but possible find pbn

Lot of people hide their pbns and block majestic, ahrefs, moz etc but forget the lesser known ones

Also I read somewhere ahrefs has the most links in its database

so I dont see another website that has 120,000,000,000 which 3x the amount of youtube.

Ahrefs are the vest tool for back link checking but that is paid service .

If I have to choose one, I would go for openlinkprofiler.org. Because it is free. As for the rest, usually it comes with limited trial version. (Limited number of search query per day or perhaps 7 day trial period etc).
