Hey everyone, I just got a quick question about Google My Business Metrics. I've tried their solution pages to figure things out but I just got a few remaining things I don't understand.

Search View is the search listing so this is the organic listings and the local 3 packs? Whereas Map View is the impression you received from Google Maps?

The final question is for Discovery Searches that is basically users searching on Google and your location shows up as a 3 pack/organic listing? Whereas Direct search is when they're on Google Maps searching for your branded term?

In a situation where map view is far greater than searches views but discovery searches is greater than direct search what could be the cause of this?

I guess they're not looking for your biz specifically, instead they are searching your area. Unless I misunderstand your question, that seems to be it.

So direct is a brand search, the other is getting exposure to people searching (maps, snak pack etc..) In August they started including more impressions. Google isn't saying exactly what that means but I have a couple theories one is Local Guides second is when you search and find a business and at the bottom of the listing it says other's searched for (I believe they are counting that now as an impression) but in August there was a spike in search traffic for most listings due to some new map impression.

Hm interested, it is weird because there is a spike in August for impressions for my locations and they've increased dramatically for map views.
