Redirecting 301 Expired Domains in 2017

Hey everybody;

Im launching new websites in a "motor" niche.

I've been tracking some expired / auction domains that has good backlinking profile from HQ Authority websites and related to the niche.

But, not any of those domains has a brandable name.

So i've been thinking about buying an expired brandable domain without authority and doing 3-4 301 redirects to this one.

The only thing that is holding me back is many of those expired authority domains has generic anchor text such as the naked url website and isn't really in the "same niche" as my new website would be about "cars".

The auth backlink profile is about 100-200 referring domains & has from 7 to 23 tf & cf in majestic each one, so OK linkjuice will be going inside.

Thoughts? Opinions please!

Generic and naked URL anchors are the ones you actually want. 301 redirects transfer anchor texts as well, so having brand/url anchors helps to optimise your money site later on. You don't really want too unrelated anchors, even though they are within a same niche, so this is indeed ideal.

Also, 301 redirects are not what they used to be and 3 - 4 redirects isn't exactly what I would call natural. I would rather be patient until a suitable domain appears so you can use it without any redirects.

First of all, be careful about multiple 301s. There is a risk that Google will flag it as unnatural.

Secondly, if you are going to take a risk, make sure the reward is high - use powerful domains, not DA10 ones. If a website has 100 referring domains linking to it, only 5 might have any real power.

Third and last, 301 transfers anchors. You want to make sure that the anchor text profile of your ultimate site is strong and natural. URLs and brand terms are best.

I haven't ever redirected more than one site to another domain. That did work fine, because one mapped to the other. Others on this forum say 301ing a domain has little effect.

You might be better off buying a couple of high quality guest posts for your site or good quality blog network posts.

In my niche its hard to get a strong domain, even in auctions, a lot are spammed as hell, but i did saw one with 18 TF & 21 TF with some good linking profile with about 180rd that could work for me (nonbrandable).

Thats why i asked this too, i know 301 transfers anchors and i was worried because if i do get a brandable domain with 20 backlinks but then i redirect one with 180 rd naked url it isn't natural.

This is waaaay too complicated imo. If the relevancy is like you pointed out, that is cars vs ford (who drivers ford anyway?) cars, then that's good enough for me for direct 301.

Alright sounds good. The great domain actually has mostly branded anchors so i guess thats perfect. Haha yeah i dunno who drives ford.

Btw this domain has been 301ed before, to a domain in same niche. 301 was removed 1 year ago. Domain has about 300 unique domain backlinks and TF 28, will it still have link juice or did the 301 permanently pass all the juice?

301 DOES NOT permanently pass link juice and if you find anyone who claims so, then you can be sure he/she is absolutely clueless.
