I have a vps with the following configuration- How many websites will I be able to host on this provided each site will receive atleast 1k visitors a day.
  • 30 GB Disk Space
  • 1000 GB Traffic
  • 1024 MB RAM
  • 1 CPU Core(s)
  • 1 IP Addresses
  • Unlimited Hosted Domains
  • CentOS/Debian/Ubuntu

No one can solve that math.
Too many variable missing, like:
- what's on your page
- is it static or dinamic page
- how big is the database
- etc etc

Its a static page, Any rough estimate??

offtopic, but may I ask if that configuration is from a bhw provider? I ask because the one I came across was damn overpriced, even with the 3 month trial. I would try ovh instead ;)

btw, you could host 4 -5 websites having 1K traffic each depending on the settings and other variables. if you do not have any sql server, that number will increase. if you use nginx instead of apache, you could even go further.

It is from a bhw provider and this is a 3 month trial plan :)

I completely agree with the rest of the answers. There is simply not enough data provided for even rough estimations.

With these specs you could host over 10 very simple websites with no SQL and almost no CSS.

At the same time, you might not be able to host even a single resource-heavy website no matter how many visitors it has.

No one can really Tell you the exact number. Too many factors come into play.

Here are just a few things to look at

1. are you running cpanel
2. are the sites wordpress
3. How much graphics are on the site
4. are you going to use cloud flare

So many things go into play with how many sites you can get on that 1 GB plan. You could get only one site depending on the resources that site uses or you could get 20 to 30 It all depends. The nice thing on VPS is you can upgrade the plan as you need more resources.

There are many things that you need to discuss as most of the people have said above. If you can provide such type of information only then we can help you.

lol how can somone suppose to answer this without knowing the website and pages

Depends from so many factors.

The hardware quality of the node on which the VPS is running.
The optimization of the VPS it self.
Apache/Litespeed/NginX ?
With or w/o Control panel (and which control panel)
The type of websites (static/dynamic/CMS etc/ and the optimization of these sites.
Will these sites be behind CDN ...
The size of each website (I see only 1TB of bandwidth)

With that said, no one can give you exact number.

Agree with the previous replies.

It is totally depend on the scope of your websites and applications which you are going to host on the server. If your website has the heavy traffic then you can host only single website in such provided requirements. You will need to make sure what exactly you would like to install for further development.

You will need to be clear about the what is scope of your websites/applications and what exactly are you going to install on the server.
