Web 2.0 link building (help)

Good day to you guys. This is another newbie question. Im starting to learn about Seo and I want to learn more about it. As what i know web 2.0 is like blogger, wordpress, wix etc. correct me if im wrong. Im planning to do link building using web 2.0(blogger) do i need to buy a paid domain so it is more effective to rank my website or It will still work even if its a free domain like .blogspot? My keyword is not so difficult and i know i can rank it fast.

Yes, it ranks but for new it will not be easy.

Well it might not get deleted etc.

Still, if you want to rank faster, then web 2.0s are the way. Back in the day they had been (and still are to some small extent) used as money sites, so called "parasites". Problem is, that you do not control them. They might get deleted without any warning and all your work will go to shit. However, they almost can't be penalised. Choices choices. I like to control my stuff, so I work with domains as money sites.

As I read it, OP wanted to build links using web 2.0s, but was asking whether he should use the web 2.0 version of the domain (eg. domain.blogspot.com) or whether he should purchase a domain to use on the web 2.0, as some allow you to use your own domain with the platform.

In the latter scenario you're completely losing any of the value of the web 2.0 domain, right?

If we're talking about making a choice between building a PBN of web 2.0s and private domains then I take your point entirely. Obviously in both instances, you're better off using expired domains/web 2.0s.

you made it sound like its all about blasting those parasite pages/web2.0's. untill that happens they won't have any value or will take too long to affect your rank? what about if they were used to backlink like really really low competition keywords, like keywords you get less than 100 result when searching using the intitle and inurl search and the top ten are bullshit pages that got ranked automatically but were never optimized for the keywords they are ranking for, will you still need to blast them or simply having them indexed would do

You won't rank them that way anymore. That spam needs to be less aggressive and more quality nowadays. Loading up GSA and hoping for the best is not a way to do it anymore. But for example, they will eat shitty PBNs without problems.

His right i mean like im gonna use a blogger platform but im gonna buy a paid domain, so im gonna use the blogger as hosting but my domain is a paid domain. Its called custom domain.

I would go with a domain since we have full control for it. And build backlinks to it with web2.0s. Assume its low competition niche.

So all you need is WEB 2.0s and contextuals.

Ranking your own domain might take longer as you're starting completely from scratch, but over time you have much more control over the content, etc. You pay for it, you own it and you're free to do whatever you want with it. Worth every penny in my opinion.

If you use your own domain hosted on a web2.0 platform I don't see any reason you would get the benefit of using the web 2.0 to absorb shitty links/rank faster, imo better to use your own domain for money site though, and web 2.0s seem to work great as t1 for me (using the free domain, not own one)

This is right. Expired web 2.0s are not powerful nowdays. Even i feel same way with fresh domains.

Sometimes PBN and other expired web2.0s or domain sellers hyping theym even without testing.

After last rollout (was few days ago) it's even more proven.

My expired domain PBN affects a bit (decreased -5 accprdomg tp serpcloud) but haven't affected to my contextual tiered link building pattern.

I would suggest you to throw some quality selected contextual platforms and web2.0s. You easily can do this if you use gsa ser with it.
