whats the best way to get historical who is data?

Back in my Web Hosting days we used it to evaluate sketchy clients who we suspected were changing hosts every few days (or week) for various reasons (usually some sort of server abuse).

Anyways, I can't remember the site we used, but from what I understood at the time, there were no free whois history providers, so we had to use a paid one.

I'd suggest Googling and checking out some of the different options and prices. I could be wrong though (about it not being free), or maybe something changed over the recent years. But either way, I think they would need to be charging in order to run servers to constantly be checking and saving the history for every domain out there.
