#4 on big G How to be #1?

Hi,
One of my website is already ranking at #4 on a keyphrase with 248 MILLION results with 246,000 [Exact] Local searches per month and 823,000 [Exact] Global searches per month. This is when the search is being made from my Country India with the url Google[dot]Co[dot]In

Now, for the same keyphrase, the results are 1990 MILLION at the url Google[dot]com and here my site ranks on #18th Or #19th position when the search is made from India.

Could you people gimme some suggestions as HOW should I move my site Up towards #1 at big G on both URL (.com and .co.in)?

Yeah the key is links .....but quality links will get you to the top faster. try and get some good quality links to your site from some respected websites. Use quality over quantity.

Ensure your general on page optimization is targeted for your particular keyword phrases, and just to clarify, are you trying to rank higher on google.co.in or google.com? naturally you'll want to get geo targeted links if possible, especially if your answer is the Indian Google.

Upload videos to video sites and put your url as the first thing on the description. You can watermark or put your url on the video too.

Register on the classfields of your country.

Post your url on Yahoo Answers and Twitter.

Post articles, preferably unique article for each page/site, since Google dislikes duplicate content and may punish those that have dupes...

Sure. Why Not? I actually did nothing at my own at initial level, but about 10 months back, when my site started getting some decent traffic (about 500 unique visits/day) without lifting a finger, and when its home page became PR2 (along with 2-3 other pages also) then I took it seriously and started optimizing the pages. Then I optimized my webpages and got it redesigned from some professional designers which enhanced the look and feel of the site & it started looking very professional and sober. After that I pasted "Addthis" button on all pages of my site and users started sharing the site which ultimately resulted in building links. Apart from that, I also hired some liink builders for MANUAL link building (from high PR sites) and now, my 80% pages are PR3.

Thats all HOW I DID IT.

Look at everything the top 3 are doing...

Onpage SEO factors...are they covered? If so, on to Offpage factors...

Backlinks, how much? PR of backlinks? Anchor text, keyword targeted? Do more than they are in all those areas.

Where are their links coming from? Can you put your link in those exact same places? In more places than they can?

How often do they update their sites? Update your site just a bit more frequently...

be very careful with what you do.. from my experience, patience is better.. keep doing what you were doing and eventually u will get to the top.

Reason i said patience is cos.. I used to have a site ranking #5 in google and i wasnt satisfied.. I tampered with it and totally disappeared from their search.
It used to make me money all the time but i didnt appreciate till it was gone.. haha

An Important Update

It has reached at #2 NOW (previous #4) for that particular keyphrase at Google[dot]co.in and at 12th Position from #18th previously at google[dot]com. I did nothing special, Just am doing the same stuff which I was doing for last couple of months. It's really very motivating.
Can anyone advice as what to do to move it up towards #1 at Googel.com?

The simplest way is to get a Xrumer blast, this will help give your site an extra boost.

If you already got the site to #4 I'm sure you already know how to move it to #1.

what is your sitename exactly.

If you get those ranking without lifting a finger and still rising then there is nothing much to do then let it rise to no. 1 position by itself. you won't want to mess it up.
