There are a few sites that I want to approach about getting them to write a post about my site with a link (or two) included. I've heard a bunch of stuff about how with guest posts "you're offering them free content" but I can't imagine too many authority sites will jump at the chance for some "free content", so I'm guessing that calling it a sponsored post would be more appropriate. Me paying them in exchange for writing an article about my site with a link included.
What's the most effective way to approach these sites when you contact them? Should I name the price or should I let them name the opening price and work from there?
But there's also more to it than price. I know a lot of you guys do direct contact for various reasons and first impression is everything, so what's the most effective way to approach these sites when I email them through their contact form?
