How Someone Changed My IG Account Password?

I have bought an IG account from Fiverr (someone contacted me and sold it to me few days back on a cheap rate) -

• The account was in French having approx 40k followers and 200 Following
• Transaction went okay and I changed email/pasword/phone number
• I gave him good review

After Few days (3 Days)

• Suddenly the same person somehow changed my password
• Inserted his mobile number
• and changed the user following to 1

Luckily again I got hold of the account, as may be that person was unable to change the EMAIL - now I entered all details again i..e changed account name + email + password + done 2 auth transaction (email + phone code)

My question - how did this happen at first place?

Can this happen again ??

not here to discuss hacking account methods but can easly be done .....

when I done my mcse there was others
learning heigh end security on networks they was tault to find back doors to secure them

your have hart attack how easy it really is when a network not fully secure even apps you know for years got back doors

More than likely not, if you enabled the two factor authentication as you said you did.

Last night again the same person changed my IG password even though after doing 2 FACTOR Authentication - Now

a) I changed email password (but keeping the same email connected with the account)
b) I also changed the account password

I was looking to buy the same account you mentioned, because It was surprisingly cheep, but now I'm glad I didn't bought it. Probably he reports that account was hacked and then IG lets him restore it with the old e-mail or something? This is just my thoughts

Are you doing this whole procedure on your phone/smart device, where you receive the SMS code? Did the seller deliver anything other than the account credentials? A pdf or any other file? It can be that your device has a rat. Do a system scan with Malwarebytes and see if anything pops up and/or when you change the password for the account, use a different machine, which is not on the same network.

Alternatively:
Let the account go and try to get your money back from Fiverr.
Selling social media accounts is not allowed there, so the gig will be removed, if it isn't already yet and hopefully the money refunded.
If Fiverr doesn't help and you don't care about your Fiverr account much, just start a dispute on PayPal.
And buy an account from a more trusted seller.

Yes I am doing it through my smartphone - but the concerning thing is whenever that person is changing the details I dont get the email OR notification
but somehow I think he was unablet o change the phone number, that's why I am getting lucky to get back into account - I am sure there is a LOOPHOLE in Instagram,
Its not the first account with IG - I am running 20+ accounts, but how come this person can get into, is really strange thing

Completed orders can be cancelled too, practically that's why Fiverr holds the money for 14 days after order completion.
