Website Rank and Worth Query

Hi, this has been on my head for quite sometime. I was comparing some sites and I saw that a site registered in 2012 is more worth in worthofweb and is more ranked in Alexa than a site registered in 2005.

Note: Both are still working and running and lots of traffic.

There are many like this.

Is this the result of continuous Non-Stop SEO and google optimization and what else?

Yes but for traffic to get engaged on a site, the site owner would have to make it known to the public right? He would have to make it aware to the public, right?
