Investing 5000$ in crypto

Every crypto is gambling, you can go camping with your family without the internet and lose (or win) 40% in 36h!

There is solution for that : If you plan to go on long vacation, and wish to rest from crypto world, convert your crypto assets into USDT . It has best chance to avoid black swan critical events.

https://coinmarketcap.com/assets/tether/

1 USDT = $1 , rarely oscilating from that value.

ETH, BTC, and NEO are pretty solid bets for the long term in my opinion. Not so sure about XRP although I do have a few hundred dollars in it myself.

Don't invest more than you can afford to lose. Don't leave large amounts of holdings for any coins on the exchanges if you are buying to hold. Research every coin you want to purchase. Make a pros/cons list and make sure you understand how each one works and you really believe in its purpose. Watch the charts. Don't chase a big up swing. A big up swing is almost always followed by a big pullback. Wait for the pullback to get in.

I would also recommend picking like 5-10 projects that are still trading under a buck or even under a penny to invest very small amounts in. I'm talking like $10-$20 each. Hold them for a few years. You will probably lose on most of them but it only takes one or two to take off and bring huge gains. It will also keep you involved and learning and researching so if one of them starts to gain some traction then you will already know if you want to invest more or even cash out and bail. There are a lot of really cool projects being built on blockchains right now so there is a lot of potential here. It's a lot like being an angel investor or venture capitalist investing in early startups but requires way less capital to get involved. I am always researching new and up and coming blockchain projects every day looking for the next big whale but I always buy in small and expect most of them to fail.

Don't be afraid to sell off losers. If you lose confidence in a project, it may be time to get out even if you are in the red. It's better to recover 50% of your investment or even 10% of your investment than nothing if the project goes dead. That money could be put into something else. Don't buy high and panic on a pullback causing you to sell low. Lots of people do that. But there are usually some pretty clear red flags when a project is heading for the dumpster like when they stop updating the project or move on to other blockchain projects or sell off all their holdings. There are a lot of reasons so stay up on your research.

Don't invest a large portion of your net worth into a single investment type like cryptocurrencies. I have personally invested quite a bit into blockchain projects and while my gains are quite a bit of my overall net worth, my actual dollars invested is under 10%. Take some profits occasionally and move them to safer investments like growth/income stocks if you are young or bonds if you are old. It's pretty awesome to watch your cryptos grow but if you never take any profits before the bubble pops then you really haven't made any profits at all. I'm not suggesting we are in a bubble now but at this growth rate we probably will be within the next few years.

Good luck with your investments. I hope you make a lot of money.

lol dude invest in a bulletproof evergreen affiliate or rank and rent site instead. Or just hand over the money to me, I'll put it to bester use.

I'm holding NEO too. :)

I have seen one guy doing technical analysis, he predicts first peak based on Fibonacci will be at 0.00930000 BTC / NEO

is there any skype or kik group for cryptocurrencies?

Not that I'm aware of. There are tons of subreddits though. Most of the blockchain projects have their own subreddit and there are quite a few general cryptocurrency subreddits too. Also bitcointalk.org has a lot of good discussions and speculation. Consider other people's opinions but make sure to do your own research and form your own opinions. Don't make an investment just because a few people on a forum say it's good. There are a lot of people pumping and dumping and while there are some good opportunities to ride someone else's pump, you can also lose a lot by not educating yourself.

I like to use fibonacci too when I am looking for good entries/exits, but I also make sure it lines up with previous support/resistance levels or other common chart/candlestick patterns. I haven't looked at the charts for NEO much the past week or two because I am not looking for an exit but rather another entry so I can't comment on that much. Once I start to see a pullback i will start watching the chart again. I have been watching BTC and ETH daily though, also looking for more entry points. I think BTC is gonna pull back to around $2850-$2950 within the next few days and ETH around $230 or so but not quite as fast. If I'm right, which isn't that often, then I will be putting more in at those levels. If I'm wrong then I will reassess and patiently wait for the next opportunity.

UPDATE:

NEO Trading at 23 $, bought when price was 7.3 $.
ETH Trading at 296$, bought when price was 40$ :D
Plan to buy Ripple and hold for 3-5 years.
That's it :)

How do you know that, a few friend send me a kind of company who is dealing with this trading . AS I see they already get their money back I mean they are now totally safe untill company shut down. But the thing, there must be a traders already doing this for professional. I have met really big guys but they are just bought and wait for long time to make profit. I heard some of them is trading but eveybody saying do it yourself even trading. I was big fan of FX in the past but of course I had some groups that I can get insights and comments than most of them make us successfull.

Nowadays eveybody says their opinion, its gonna fall, it is gonna hit 10k till december. bla bla. What is behind it? Noone know. Actually I want to find people or groups who has some good experience and good things behind their opinions.

Crypto is not like traditional markets, crypto is EXTREMELY VOLATILE, right now NEO is doing really well and it seems like it will keep going up but if tomorrow they get hacked and it's all over the newspapers NEO will lose more than 50% of its value in just a few hours. There is no technical analysis in crypto, it's all based on emotion and faith in the companies.

Technical analysis is not as reliable in cryptos as it is in traditional stock/fx markets because of the volatility but it's still there. Fundamentals are the primary mover in all markets and that's why i keep saying to do your research. But the charts are still great for finding good entries and exits for short and long term trades. Charts are also great for getting a quick summary of past fundamentals. Instead of spending days or weeks researching old news to get up to speed on a company, I can check the daily chart for a quick summary. If there are any large spikes in either direction, then I dig further with a date to narrow my research. I still always check fundamentals before any significant investment.

I don't. Just my best guess based on research and experience. I am wrong more than I'm right so don't take anything I say as investment advice.

FX pretty much requires you to trade on margin. Prices only change a fraction of a penny so you need margin to make a profit. With cryptos, they move 100+ percent in a day. You don't need margin and if you do decide you use it, you will be screwed really fast unless you get extremely lucky.

It's your own money you are investing. Do your research and form your own opinions. I wouldn't let anyone tell me how to spend my money and I wouldn't want to tell anyone else.

I would not invest in ETH and would look over NEO and zCash

Yea but who the fuck goes anywhere without the internet?

True. Even if you dont have internet, you can still close short term trades. Long term trades aren't affected by a week long vacation. It really depends on your trading style and the timeframe you are trading. I probably wouldn't worry too much if i was trading the daily or hourly chart as much as i would the 5 or 15 minute chart.
