Hello,
I need to buy a new car and my budget is 20000 €.
I know it's low/average budget for a car, but what is the best car for this price?
Honestly I don't know much about cars so I'm asking this question

Buy new car? You must suck at business, you are suggesting you should buy an asset that the moment you step foot in it, the value depreciates by at least 15% and then by another 5% or so percent annually.

If I was you, I would buy a really nice used car. With 20,000 euros depending on your country you can get some very high end luxury used cars from 2010-2014 in good condition.

Bro I just need a car to ride, I'm not buying cars for business... I appreciate your comments though, what cars would you suggest? Used cars are more likely to have problems though, you can never know what happened to that cars before. While there are some really nice used cars that can be considered a big deal, also there are some of them that may result to be more costly than a new one in the long run...

Why stop there. For €50 You can buy a decent second hand BMX and keep €19,950 for better things.

As an investment he's stating that when you buy a new car, the second you drive it out of the car dealership, it looses a value up to €2000 on a €20000 car. This is facts.

Used cars certainly have greater risk of having problems, but they come at a much much lower cost. Allowing you to offset any repairs or breakdown costs in the difference between a new car and a used car.

A lot of my high earning clients lease expensive cars for the very reason that buying new cars out right does not make for a great investment in the long run.

Get a solid used car, with a good service history, that has has the required mileage part replacements (Like timing belt etc), from a trusted dealer, and even bargain on the price for a 6-12 month warranty to be included in the used car purchase.

Best of luck with your car hunting.

Lookalike all the second hand car salesmen have found this thread quickly.

Depends where you're from though - since you mentioned euros, I assume you want a diesel? Would you go with an SUV or more like a sports car?

I would go for a used BMW 3 that's a couple years old with not too many miles on it.

Get a used bmw e46, if you want something cool to ride in, quality and reliable that's the car for me. It can cost you around 4,000 euro.

OEM parts can be expensive, but repairs and tutorials online are sooo good you can do repairs yourself with high quality Chinese parts from ebay.

There is a VERY VERY active forum that helps a lot, just search on google "bmw e46 forum". This car is a fucking religion. Owned one for 7 years, best buy choice of my life.
