Will it help to rank my niche site?

Hi guys. I'll try to explain my case as clear as possible.

So i started niche site a few weeks ago.
My site has very targeted niche and it's a problem for link building. There aren't any blogs or individuals in the niche i could connect with through email and use all outreach link building techniques to get quality links.
But at the same time my niche has very low competition and really good monetization potential.

So my question is what if i'll create another category on my site that will be broader but still kind of related to the main topic of my website. This is not my niche but let say for example my site about "Fishing" and i'll create category about "Camping". Category about Camping can have way more competition than the main one but it also has a plenty of bloggers and potential websites to get link from.

So in this case will the links pointed to my "camping related articles" help rank my "fishing articles"?

Internal linking distributes page authority and ranking power throughout the site, it paves way for spiders strengthening your overall value so yes it will help in some ways

Are you still looking for help with your fishing site. I have a number of fishing and outdoors sites I could possibly get you links from. And yes outdoor and camping links do help with fishing. Still not as food as a fishing blog though.
