Hi everyone, recently i'd stumbled on such a topic as arbitrage betting https://www.pinnacle.com/en/betting-articles/betting-strategy/what-is-arbitrage-betting and https://napalmbet.com/arbitrage-betting.html. I read this and thats like you really can make money, but that very linear and i did not believe in easy money. Anyone tried this?

According to Wikipedia: Arbitrage betting is almost always insufficiently profitable due to detection, unreliable betting websites, limiting of stakes, hackers, and scammers that use high percentage arbitrages to trick bettors into providing security credentials.

Your bets are gonna be limited so in short it does not work.

Arbitrage betting used to exist properly about 6 years ago now, a few issues exist - arbs occur when odds change too slow, or a wildly incorrect caused by sometimes human but mostly robot error, bookmakers have huge protection and can 'palp' bets regularly whenever they please.

You will lose your accounts after 1 arb generally on most sites
You will end up getting on 1 side of the arb and having the other side amended and therefore be at loss (it is all about a yield higher than 100%)

I have been doing this for some time and made some little money but soon after they limited my accounts, not giving me to bet more than 10euros or something.
It's almost the easiest thing to find difference in odds where you can make free profit especially after doing it for a while, you somehow get better at finding them easier and quicker.
Its hard to do it nowadays though, cant say impossible because I believe that everything is possible :D

And I'm guessing that in physical casinos like Las Vegas the odds are tight enough that they never have arb's between two casinos. If you could walk into the Flamingo and get a bet on team A and then to the MGM for team B you could put together one... but they are probably wise.

some bookies says, that they never limit accounts, even you bet on arbs
Maybe they dont have arbs?

it works but there a lot of procedures you have to do to save your account of being limited. I've made a tool between a soft bookie and pinnacle to check sure bet oportunities and i can find some soccer pre-live 1x2 sure bet oportunities but usually they are <1% and there are more oportunities on weekends, the bigger ones go fast and almost no time to bet on 2 sides. Always bet on the soft bookie first.

How about fixed matches? I know there are some out there, one guy I know drives a good car from betting money. Of course he doesn't want to tell a word about it. Anyone had any experience?

You can make any money only by investing a lot and hence risking great amounts for little money. Even without account locks, a bookie can cancel any bet if it seems fishy (which is the case with all arb bats) and thus you lose money and it'll kill your profit for a whole lot of prev bats.
Something could be done only with exchanges such as betfair where you play against other betters and no bookie still it seems very unlike you can make money these days with only arb.

Forget fixed matches. Yes they exist and no you cannot get hands on them.

Of course I can...I mean I could but it's too hard. Do you bet?

I used to make a decent amount from betting and matched betting, going back to year 2000.
Bookies do limt accounts, not just for taking arbs, but also if you take prices which are out of line with other sports books.
If you hammer the offers too, they will limit you.

As for fixed mtches, yes they do exist but you need a lot of money to get invited to these, they're usually originating from Far East and an indication if you're not involved is watching the Far East exchanges for prices moving. Betfair/Betdaq will then follow.
Last year there was a clown on FB bragging he had a fixed match a day, betting £500 a day on correct score markets ( odds were 25/1 and bigger ) but he was proved to be a scammer, who was charging £100 a game for the info.

So you can get £500 on a sure thing @ 28/1, so why share this and watch the market get flooded with the exact same bets ?

Yes, good question. But still...some people get infos about fixed matches which means they had to find the source somehow. How do they get to those people selling matches? I personally would never sell it, only would share it with few family and friends.

The guy years back to invited me was very well connected out in the Far East, you had to be putting £10k bets down.
These fixes tended to be hf/ft results, ft results etc, often you could do them using Asian Handicap bets.

The more recent correct score ones were just scams, people who were greedy coughing up £100 for info then the guy doing a runner.
Yeah it's fine advertising those for Italian Legue 3 games ( but that will limit/close your bookies account ) but when they claimed they could fix Premiership UK games, alarm bells should ring.

yeah there are too many scammers out there you are right, that's a hard business to get into but once you are in, lucky you :D

Personally I think it's why share such powerful info ?
There used to be a couple of guys in the UK who were involved in 'horse racing' who were banned from bookies, so they used to have a team of guys putting the bets on for them.
Neighbour of mine was stood in the bookies one day, guy walks in, asks for a price on this no hoper, asks what he can put on it, teller says £250 @ 16/1, guy pulls out a wad of notes, counts off £250 and places the bet.
My neighbour had £10 on him, so did the same bet, then rang me and asked me to use one of my online accounts and asked me to put £50 on for him and told me what had just happened. I put him his £50 on, had £20 for myself and it walked home, hands & heels.

EDIT;
That is off topic, to arbbing sports. However, what I used to find worked really well, is seeing huge movements in odds on horses such as these, watching the price crash, then lay the horse on an exchange.
Yes you lose half your profit if it does win but if the horse fails to win, you win the lay bet.

I wouldn't have commented on this, as I'm not familiar with it, but today is "watermelon day" at my work. We're shutting down a few hours early to ... eat watermelon.

So I fucking voted in the poll.

yes it works but they will limit your account which makes it harder. There are some asian bookies that don't care about win/lose ratio though, they just want to get as many bets as they can and earn the fees :)

I used to know this guy. He would watch the horse racing live, whilst on sports betting sites where you bet with other people. Then just as the horse fell behind he would accept a bet from someone before they had chance to take it down. He made some money for a while doing that.

I know another guy who did something similar online, he could make a small profit by betting on certain racing’s and ending up so he could not lose.

Is that arbitrage betting?

I think it worked for those guys but I think it’s very hard work.
