Hey all

I had this place recommended by a friend, and spent the last week or so pouring over a lot of the fascinating threads.

I used to run a large company years ago but after dropping out on all of those concerns i re-dedicated myself to becoming a full time artist.

I create and sell my own art work inspired by 80s video games, arcades and pinball.

I have an ETSY shop which does really well, and i have managed to grow the revenue 100% year on year for the last two years.

I also have developed my own web site, despite being clueless at such endevours. By fluke i think, i managed to get one of my art pieces trending on REDDIT for a day, which resulted in about $3,000 worth of sales. Proves to me if i can market my work and get it in front of potential buyers it sells well.

The web site though im lost in a sea of trying to figure out how to get traffic to it, andf i do get a bit overwhelmed.

I am unable to get an EBAY account due to being banned over 10 years ago, and hasve tried a few times over the years to get back on to no avail

I did have a buddy of mine selling for me on ebay. I guess you would term it drop shipping. My work when advertised on ebay also sold very well. My buddy ended up moving to France and could not continue any longer.

Im just really hoping for general advice how to progess and also hoping to meet some interesting individuals on here whom i may be able to partner with to help mne drive traffic to my site and sell more of my work.

many thanks for reading

Welcome to BHW

You're time here may be short lived.

There's nothing worse than spamming different sections with the same cut & paste questions.

What kind of art do you sell. Is it digital art or physical pieces? How much do your pieces sell for? knowing exactly how many pieces sold as opposed to how much you made from that day of $3k earning would be helpful. if your pieces are $500 each meaning you only sold 6 from trending on reddit would not be too encouraging, but if your pieces are on the lower end of the spectrum and you did a ton of sales within that $3k then that could be great. how far did you get up and how much traffic did you get from it? Was the reddit traffic a result of your promotion or did it just happen by someone random sharing it? I have sold a few things on Etsy myself and know of a few ways to drive traffic within the site very easily on autopilot using various methods.

Hi William702

thanks for taking the time to reply

I create physcial art . My pieces are not high end, i sell volume and my pieces range from $20 - $60 each.

The day on Reddit, it was random. Someone had been bought one of my pieces of art as a present and they posted it on there. It got a high resonse and people actively searched for me, for where to buy my work. actually across my web site and etsy i think i sold over 200 pieces of art that week , all the same piece, all the one posted on reddit

Sounds pretty good. I think you should be trying to get your name all over sites like Reddit, and social media as well - twitter and instagram are really good places for posting art, tumblr, Facebook etc.

Just try to make your self know everywhere. Then funnel the traffic back to your site.

I think selling art on eBay is quite hard, but still you should work on getting an account there. Maybe set up from a friends address, or something like that?

Also find some art sites to list your stuff on as well - to make sales and also to build some relevant backlinks to your site.

No worries,

Get your photos on social media, that's the best way to share eye catching, unique designs.
Plenty of natural shares, comments and intereactions with a link here and there to a store of yours.

I'd suggest getting on to amazon merch too. If you're into that.

thanks guys

am i allowed to post my web site to show you ? i figure not. im genuinely seeking help and potential commercial partners .. im not a spammer :-)

Getting traffic within etsy is easy, sending traffic to your site is another matter but I think pinterest would be the best place to advertise it. You wont see results overnight but if you do a fair few pins each day over time that will build up.

Personally I would not share the link in the public forum but feel free to PM anyone you are talking to as I'm sure that would be fine. There is an affiliate section too if you are looking for people to sell it.

You can make deals with influencers. They promote your products, and for every sell they receive x % from profit.
I have some art related pages that I can help you with.

Cheers
