Stop saying BS. As a designer who has worked for a known agency, i can tell you WE already did a logo for 80k$. You know what do we call this? Professionalism and being well known.

You have a different experience than everyone else here. IMers are generally cheap and cut corners financially wherever they can.

I told 2 friends that I charge $1+ a word for offline projects and they went berserk. "I can get great content for $20/1000 words!"

But when you work with a particular type of client, they won't look at you if you don't charge a certain price point. And they have the budget for these type of things. Price is usually no object for them and they understand that they truly do get what they pay for.

So just keep that in mind. You work with a different type of client, and you have experience in a whole other sector of the business world.

Of course they don't understand.

You couldn't be more accurate. I recently lost a project because i charged 3k for it. We still hadn't done anything but the client preferred to go with someone who charged 10k. As you said, it's a different world

I'm not sure what's expected of me here.

My comment was simply to point out that charging what you think you're worth is fine, but that Fiverr put themselves in a strange/unique position. If you think X units of your time to complete task Y is worth $5, then Fiverr is a great platform for you. For Fiverr to charge more than their name indicates is disingenuous. They pigeon-holed themselves by choosing the name Fiverr.

Therefore, @Sherbert Hoover being annoyed at Fiverr for charging more than the basis for the founding of their platform, but then claiming that he charges what he believes his time is worth, are not contradictory in my opinion. Fiverr, again in my opinion, should have gone the Freelancer Pty Ltd route and started acquiring other properties that fit their growth desires.

Fiverr says anyone can become a pro seller, even brand new sellers. You just have to go through their vetting process.

Whatever that means.
