How to pre-set new publish date on an already live post? (WordPress)

I'm looking for a way to pre-set new custom publish dates on already published blog posts.

In other words, this is what I want to do:

1. Select a live blog post.
2. Modify the publish date to a specific date/time in the future.
3. The post remains Published with the original publish date until the future date/time.
4. On the future date/time, the post's publish date updates and the post goes to the front of the loop.

The most important is #3 above.

Unfortunately, this doesn't meet my most important criteria: future-dating an already published post will change the status from Published to Scheduled. I need the post to stay Published with the original date/time until the future date/time, when I need the post to jump to the front of the loop.

No, I want a specific post to jump to the front of the loop without needing to get up in the middle of the night to modify the publish date/time.

Creating a new post accomplishes that, but is not a good solution as it creates more problems down the road (duplicate content, new URL, old post still live).

Thanks, but same problem: setting a future date/time will change the status of the post from Published to Scheduled (doesn't meet my #3 condition, above). I need it to stay Published.

Just thought of this how about making a duplicate post and setting the publish date, then using this plugin to delete the old post

Thanks. Any idea on how to keep the old post slug?

Btw, the plugin that performs the closest to what I need, is this one:

Only, it doesn't work on a post-by-post basis.
