PBN FEAR

This entire thread has been insightful. I never thought about buffering through an intermediate site. It's very genius, a was feeling worried about pbn's for a while especially with Google always advancing.

I Guess the black hat method is to smack down your competition by setting up a poorly executed pbn toward their main site.

Yourwebsite.com/main-keyword - you want to rank this site for main keyword.

abrandnewsite.com - you build this site and target something related to your main keyword. so if your main keyword is Ping golf clubs, then you build this new site targeting this keyword - review of ping 5 iron golf club. That related term might get only 100 searches per month, but have low competition. So you can try and rank your new site for that term. You build your pbn links to this new site in order to rank it. And you also link back to Yourwebsite.com/main-keyword - using your main keyword as anchor text. Then the juice from the pbns gets filtered to your main site.
The main objective here is to keep your main site safe and the links pointing to it in your control - if you get penalised you can remove the link from abrandnewsite.com and save your main site. Also if abrandnewsite.com gets penalised then you can throw it away, its not important.
If abrandnewsite.com ends up ranking well, then you are sending the traffic to your main site anyway, or you might end up just redirecting it if all works very well.

Others may say this is a long way of doing it, and it is, and you will lose some power from the links.

But what I am saying is this - if you are new to SEO and you dont know what you are doing, then you are risking less with this method. If you end up getting a few of these new sites penalised it doesnt matter and you are learning along the way.
Thx men!!!

Say you're trying to rank for "Buy Blue Shoes" as your main term:
  1. Make blueshoereviews.weebly.com
  2. Post an article on blueshoereviews.weebly.com titled "how to buy cheap blue boots"
  3. In that article, link back to your main site's article "Buy Blue Shoes." Ex: "Now that you know how to buy cheap boots in various shades of blue, check out some online shops where you can [buy blue shoes] <-- Link to money site here
  4. Point PBN links at blueshoereviews.weebly.com/how-to-buy-cheap-blue-boots, which in turn links back to the main site's Buy Blue Shoes article
The buffer site now (ideally) ranks for "how to buy cheap blue boots" (a longtail related to the money site's main keyword) and the main site (ideally) now ranks for "Buy Blue Shoes" (the main keyword).

This thread went pretty well thanks to all of you who answered with patience to noobs like us and not by making jokes. I highly appreciate that. I hope that beginners like me have learned some value from this thread.

I would like to make a question since the thread it went pretty well, here publicly so others can learn too.

What kind of anchor text should be used for the buffer site "blueshoereviews"?

1. If only pbn links point to it with the keyword "how to buy cheap blue boots" and no other links that would get a kind of penalization?

2. Should we also mix any different seo package to diversify the profile, like with comments. If yes what kind package is the best for performance.

3. I don't know if this is right, but I heard that the best way to get juice from web 2.0 is to link from homepage and not actually an inner page like in this case blueshoereviews.weebly.com/how-to-buy-cheap-blue-boots.

Even though I think it's better from an inner page because it looks natural even for manual review and your competitors. The thing that irritates me is if the juice goes better from the homepage, that's all.

Thanks for everything.

I have a blog around 4 years old and I want to join a pbn service here (gen pbn actually).

I am afraid what will happen to my site if the network will be caught or something.

Sounds like something the real rand fishskin would ask. Are you him?

Buy a domain you don't care about, cheap web hosting and optimize it for some incredibly low competition keyword(s). Buy PBN links and test a few things. Learn in an environment that's unstable and irrelevant to you before you sacrifice your main site if you're nervous.

If you are scared you may use tiered link building. Send PBN links to another site, that may give links to your site. Keep your eyes always on Google webmaster tool. In case you get a spam link report from your owned tier one page, you can cut off link immediately.

For the actual link from the buffer site (tier 1) to your money site, generally you would want an exact or partial match for your keyword. This is in theory one very strong link, so you generally want your anchor text to be for the actual keyword. Then use other weaker links for anchor text diversity.

For the links from Tier 2 to the buffer site, would do a mix of anchor text. Something like:
  • 50% plain URL links with no anchor text
  • 25% generic anchor text. Things like "click here," "website," "on his blog," and other assorted general terms
  • 20% niche/brand related but not super specific. Things like "clothing," "shoe," "[brand related terms]," etc
  • 1-5% exact and partial match anchor text for "how to buy cheap blue boots" and variations
These ratios can vary by a lot depending on the keyword and other factors. The point is to use many different types of anchor text.

1. If only pbn links point to it with the keyword "how to buy cheap blue boots" and no other links that would get a kind of penalization?
Possibly. Link diversity is generally good for your site and would probably lower your risk.

2. Should we also mix any different seo package to diversify the profile, like with comments. If yes what kind package is the best for performance.
See answer to #1. Link diversity is generally good. You might consider getting many different kinds kinds of links blog comments, web 2.0s, social media shares, profile links, etc. Use moderation.

3. I don't know if this is right, but I heard that the best way to get juice from web 2.0 is to link from homepage and not actually an inner page like in this case blueshoereviews.weebly.com/how-to-buy-cheap-blue-boots.

Most web 2.0s will let you sticky a post, which will make the post show up on the homepage. This gets you the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDMIuuO_PQo.

Homepage links aren't inherently better. Generally they are considered desirable because there are a lot of links pointed at a website's homepage. If a particular article has a lot of links to it, that article's links will generally be very strong, potentially stronger than the homepage.
