Compatibility between mysql 5.0 and mysql 5.1

Hello can you tell me if my stuff was written in mysql 5.0 if then in other server I use mysql 5.1 ,will it work or do I need to install mysql 5.0 forcefully?

It'll work. MySQL will be back-compatible, meaning anything written for MySQL <5.1 will still work on 5.1

Yes papi but ur turn it round ,things was written on mysql 5.0 and the question is if they would work on mysql 5.1.8 as well

If it's written for MySQL vX and you're running it on MySQL vY then provided X<Y it will definitely work. And besides, I'm relatively sure the majority of MySQL version updates are internal rather than functionality related.

Hello the way my server worked was mysql 5.0 ,php 5.2 and apache 2.2,Im glad to hear that if I twist this a little bit using mysql 5.1 ,nothing bad will happen and indeed the server was starting recognizing tables as I was injecting my databases via webmin but I just chasnged the admin password a nd it was w hat sent everything to fry peppers since the way it works is when you use root as admin password.

You truly save me testing efforts since I heard over the internet that some people say it aint compatible mysql 5.0 with mysql 5.1 so that why I thaught it would be good to come here to know your point of view since the other thing I thaught that was the reason why my php scripts dont work was because I also had php 5.4 installed on my server and maybe it was causing trouble but I guess I was on my way with mysql 5.1.8 aint it?
