Do you think GSA SER still useful in 2017 after so many changes in Google algorithms? Long ago in 2006 even when I was using BMD only (with no proxy setting changed whatsoever), I still remember my website got high jump in SERP within overnight and it stayed there till end of last year (2016). Then now I turn to GSA SER and seems to have super slow effect.

What is your experience using GSA SER in 2017? Is it still effective to boost SERP?

Yaah, GSA Still Useful And Depends On You How You Are Using It !!

This question is asked almost every year and the answer is always same "Yes"

A wrench is useful, as long as you need to turn a nut. SER is just a tool. If you have nothing useful to do with it, it won't be useful.

This.

The algos seem to have affected a whole bunch of methods. There's a thread about Fred where people using PBNs or guestposts were hit, even a few claiming their sites were white hat. The thing with SER is people expect it to rank them just because the press start.

My question is, how does anyone not believe that G will be able to eventually crunch numbers, backlinks and analytics to reverse engineer link footprints. Seeing all these thousands of backlinks to lower performing parasites and websites with no equivalent in traffic to explain the backlinks like GSA. I feel it will be just a matter of time G will sniff those out and penalize for it. I already remember reading about Nathan Gotch getting a client's site penalized for 3rd tier link set-ups. But until then I guess it's a matter of the niche's competition and whether they can sniff this out and report it.
I will say where this would be useful still and be able to pass the sniff-test is by using more authoritative guestposts like Inc., Forbes, Techcrunch etc. where they have a ton of traffic and having a ton of backlinks optimized for anchor text to rank for multiple keywords as a parasite strategy is totally doable...

Just build good quality backlinks. And good article. Why do people make it so complicated all the time?

Favorite Line "people expect it to rank them just because the press start."

mostly for tear 2 back links that never changed.

No ideas. However, It's more effective if more than one method is used (I'm using it 90% for Tier 3 and 10% for Tier 2)

Expect to see the same thread after less than 6 months (in 2018, then in 2019...), lol. GSA SER is a TOOL, guys! IT"S NOT A MAGIC! You need to learn HOW to use it properly, asking such questions is worthless as you will receive different replies -> from YES to NO... But it ALL depends on the WAY you use the tool to rank your websites... ☺

Several already won the thread by saying it's a tool and depends how you use it. I use it daily. It works best as part of larger strategy.

I will add the SER can be expanded via custom engines. We're seeing this with SEREngines and SocialSER. Because it can be expanded there will always be uses for it. I'd say it's the best link building tool of all time, followed by RankerX (IMO).

I picked up SocialSER today and it's a real beast. A little glitchy when importing accounts, but does what it's supposed to do.

There are lot of success stories with tiered link building with gsa serach engine ranker and there are even few IM journeys here. Yes gsa search engine ranker works great. All you have to do is know your competition and find the strategy and fire up i.

Love it. Dont know what people try to rank with it, but sure aint sth. with competition.

Invet the money in some quality expired domain to put your moneysite on, or invest in your own network

Done.

Some saying it works very good, but I think there must be a proper strategy to use that tool. Does anyone know where to get a good tutorial for it (2017)?

Please I really need the Life time licence. If you have it please PM me

Yes but only if you want back links, if it's ice cream your after then I'm afraid your out of luck.

Yes its still working, GSA is only recommended for Tier 2 or Tier 3 lunk building. Don't use for your money site directly. unless it's a churn and burn.

You need quality content for your campaigns. You cannot expect GSA to do all of the work for you, UNIQUE content and consistency is way to it.
