What platform do you use to find clients?
First question is easy, "I am from (country name)" and if they ask where you operate from, just tell them from home, or wherever you are. If they don't like it, or say that "that's not a real business", tell them it is, since you provide a service that they pay for, doesn't matter if you work from home, a garage, or outside in the wild, if you provide a service then you are a business.
Don't do free work for reviews, they will look fake, or something along the lines "he did this thing for free, so awesome!"
And don't be scared, be confident of who you are and your skills.
Good luck.
Don't go that fast. Become expert in one topic, you are trying to be all-rounder.Update
Free Client 3/5 (lost one, gained one)
The 2nd client didn't want to write any testimonial, in fact he was pissed. I should screen my clients before I start the project. He was not good at being patient.
Good news is I completed the 3rd project and got a good testimonial too. Now I have 2 testimonials. Also I'm working with a new client.
SEO
My niche is not saturated and competition is low. Same goes for seo.
I've never done seo in my life before although I know the basics. After the 3rd project, I'll start doing seo too. I'll share stats here, so I hope you guys can help me out with it. For start I've read two great tutorials and will follow them.

Some may say this thread is going too slow but note that, I'm providing a service that sell for $300, I'm a beginner and I do all by myself. So it'll take time for things to speed up.
I think what you're lacking is your personal credibility.
Based on experience, having some professional profiles around like LinkedIn can be one of the weapons you can use if clients asked for credentials.
For example, I do some Fiverr gigs (Shopify Dev) and customers don't hesitate to give me their cPanel and website logins.
Same with clients that just bumped into my website and send an inquiry in my contact form and let me access their website/cPanel. Sometimes even personal emails.
Try to build up yourself first and get a decent amount of work history. If you do have one, list all of them in your LinkedIn profile and ask your ex-colleagues or boss to give you recommendations for your job well done from your previous company.
Hope that helps!
Cheers!
I'm 19. Still in college. I use a fake identity to contact people. But yes, I see what you mean. I'll build a professional profile.

I'm not selling web designing service, I can't disclose what service I sell exactly because It may increase my competition. But what I do include tweaking code and so I NEED to enter a client's site before I can even start the job. sorry for the confusion. Although thanks for your reply.
