Thank you, I appreciate your help but I already have a vps. Problem is with creating staging site without cPanel access of clients.

Ok, the wp staging cloning is completed and everything seems to be working fine.

Create imaginary company.
Register on Google My Business with your home address; get verification PIN.
Create 20 gmail accounts and give your business 5 starts on google my business.
Create FB page enter address; get at least 2k likse (bots or paid no difference)
Sign up to free business directory and submit your business.
Your agency would look real to anyone who look it online.

Nice idea! :D

What platform do you use to find clients?

There are some websites which my prospective clients use, I search there and contact them. Finding clients is the easy part, selling them is the hard part.

Free Client: 3/5

The 2nd project completed successfully although with some glitches. The client's site was offline for 30 minutes. He was not near pc and couldn't give me login to it's cPanel until then. Man, I thought I lost him. It's like you lose all trust and you look like a newbie when you contact them telling "Hey, there's kind of a problem. Your site is down.." and then the client send email:
IRhbqDx

THIS is a nightmare. I fixed the problem which is good and this won't happen in future.
Anyway the project is complete and I did a good job but I don't know how he'll feel about it as I also caused him a downtime. We'll know in the future.

Good news is I already have 3rd client ready to work with and this client is big. I've to work hard for this one, great asset for my portfolio.

First question is easy, "I am from (country name)" and if they ask where you operate from, just tell them from home, or wherever you are. If they don't like it, or say that "that's not a real business", tell them it is, since you provide a service that they pay for, doesn't matter if you work from home, a garage, or outside in the wild, if you provide a service then you are a business.

Don't do free work for reviews, they will look fake, or something along the lines "he did this thing for free, so awesome!"

And don't be scared, be confident of who you are and your skills.

Good luck.

Thanks man! Yes I tell my country name when they ask, no problem so far.

Regarding free reviews, it's worth it. I've got 2 testimonials until now and they're good. Also I gain experience. Only need 5 testimonials at first to gain trust.

Free Client 3/5 (lost one, gained one)

The 2nd client didn't want to write any testimonial, in fact he was pissed. I should screen my clients before I start the project. He was not good at being patient.
Good news is I completed the 3rd project and got a good testimonial too. Now I have 2 testimonials. Also I'm working with a new client.

SEO
My niche is not saturated and competition is low. Same goes for seo.

I've never done seo in my life before although I know the basics. After the 3rd project, I'll start doing seo too. I'll share stats here, so I hope you guys can help me out with it. For start I've read two great tutorials and will follow them.

I registered on a free SERP tracker too:

Some may say this thread is going too slow but note that, I'm providing a service that sell for $300, I'm a beginner and I do all by myself. So it'll take time for things to speed up.

Don't go that fast. Become expert in one topic, you are trying to be all-rounder.

Happy that this journey is going places. Good luck.

I think what you're lacking is your personal credibility.

Based on experience, having some professional profiles around like LinkedIn can be one of the weapons you can use if clients asked for credentials.
For example, I do some Fiverr gigs (Shopify Dev) and customers don't hesitate to give me their cPanel and website logins.

Same with clients that just bumped into my website and send an inquiry in my contact form and let me access their website/cPanel. Sometimes even personal emails.

Try to build up yourself first and get a decent amount of work history. If you do have one, list all of them in your LinkedIn profile and ask your ex-colleagues or boss to give you recommendations for your job well done from your previous company.

Hope that helps!

Cheers!

I'm 19. Still in college. I use a fake identity to contact people. But yes, I see what you mean. I'll build a professional profile.

I started working as link builder when I was 17. :)
Faking your identity won't lead you anywhere. Be proud of yourself at a young age you have those skills and a mindset of an entrepreneur.

Update
Free Clients: 4/5

The 3rd project completed and I'll start the 4th project today. Also I'm going to start doing seo too.

I read like 10 threads here by lethe, tommy and other users on on-page seo and link building. Also some posts outside of BHW.

SEO Plan:
1. Keyword research
2. On page seo
3. Off page seo

Off page seo;

1. Expired web 2.0

I'm going to search expired web 2.0 and create links to money site. As the niche is small, cannot find niche related links. So I'm unsure if I should link there directly or use a shortener. Will only use good quality links and use low quality in tired link building.

2. Tired link building

2 web 2.0 with high da > shorurl > money site (tier 1)
Each with 5-6 spinned content.
Low quality expired 2.0 (tier 2)
10 high da shorturl (tier 2)
Spam links > tier 2 shorturls (tier 3)

Not sure if I should go that far or just spam directly to the web 2.0s. Any suggestion is appreciated! :)

Current ranking: not in top 300

I'm not selling web designing service, I can't disclose what service I sell exactly because It may increase my competition. But what I do include tweaking code and so I NEED to enter a client's site before I can even start the job. sorry for the confusion. Although thanks for your reply.

If i understand with your words, you'd need acees to insert some tags / script.

Better use google tag manager and ask him to put tag manager script on his website.
