Hey guys,

I have several web sites that are already ranking high in competitive markets. However, I want to expand my virtual real estate and build more and more sites. Therefore, I want to switch my hosting from HostGator to Seohosting so I can take advantage of multiple C class addresses.

However, my established sites will need to switch nameservers to Seohosting, and the IP addresses of the sites are likely to change as well. Does anyone know if this will have an adverse effect on my search engine rankings?

Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Dan

From what I know it should not make a problem to switch to another IP and nameserver.
I doubt google looks at the nameservers at all as they are often a heavily "shared" service.

Yea I figured that switching name servers wouldn't make much of a difference... The thing I'm mainly worried about is switching IP addresses...

Well I haven't done it for a couple of years but last time I did it my rankings dropped almost off the radar but within the week it was all back to normal. I think you could possibly find something similar but ultimately big G isn't gonna punish you for changing servers.

Hopefully the move goes smoothly for you.

Maybe because google could not find your site for a while!
So when switchting make sure that the old site stays up and working for a few days.
It can take a while until all nameservers see the new location, so if you switch the site and turn off the old one you will have people getting errors.

it doesnt matter.. i switched my sites 3months ago and traffic actuallly got better.. i guess it all depends.
