depends on various factors.
there's a few threads on bhw on how to mine. i wrote one if you use search or check my history. you can make around $5-10 a day with your home pc assuming you have aftermarket gpu.
big players spend 10k+ on hardware so they can make a lot more money.

First, you should not use home PC cause it can't handle. Go for Mining rig which needs good investment.
Second, Mining sucks electricity, if electricity is cheap, go for it.
