BITCOIN TO CRASH on AUG 1st !!

You're a moron. Plain and simply put. Please do more research before spreading FUD like this. SegWit's approaching 50% approval on the first part and SegWit2.0 has over 90%. It will go ahead and BTC will be much more stable, causing the prices to go back up. Also suddenly billions of dollars worth of capital evaporating? Good luck with that, it's not going to crash overnight. Right now there's a lot of people who are just freaking out, causing the price to go down even further. Perfect time to buy pretty soon.

I totally accept Bitcoin as an alternative and competing currency - but the vulnerability to a solar flare or emp, makes it one of the worst stores of money in times of crisis...
Right now, I see Bitcoin being in a bit of a bubble. It's going up because Chinese citizens are storing their money abroad since the government is intent upon devaluingn the Remnimbi to compete with a skyrocketing Dollar and a devaluing Yen. But once China starts putting measures to institute mandatory government issued logins for internet users along with outlawing other digital currencies, you will see a bubble pop of cosmic proportions.
Reminds me of a story I once read in history class....https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulip_mania

Omg! this is scary then! Been mining bitcoins for good but I still do believe that BTC will survive this fork issue.

I just think it's funny that so many people thought litecoin wouldn't crash with bitcoin. When Thats Exactly What Happened

there is to much capital in btc for it to crash that easy....plus the world needs a fast and simple way to launder money and finance illegal stuff.

Wrong. On regular exchanges, you have various ways to avoid a sudden crash. Like if quotes plummet down over 5 percent, they'll suspend trading in that stock for a couple of minutes to encourage new bidders, etc.

With bitcoin everything is so unregulated nothing would prevent the price to crash to zero. Besides..it's hard to say how much real cash is in it...half of it seems to be electricity bills ;-)

This applies to most digital currencies, credit cards and so on. Bitcoin is probably the most backed up currency in existence, far as I understand every user has a copy of the database on their PC.

I believe that BTC prices will go down during the first week of august, but after that it will skyrocket, everyone who pulled out will come back in (the market dropped from 120 billion dollars to 60 billion dollars in crypto already, it will go even lower untill the first week of august and then go back to 100 billion+)

So guys, I have around 2.5 BTC.
Should i keep them or sell them before AUG 1 ?
Personally, i think BTC will survive and the price will surge above 3k$ again !

OMG, so this was a reason i see sudden down in BTC prices. Tho i had just $100 BTC balance.

The new software (Segwit2x) will be released to miners on 21st July and around 80–85% miners are willing to run the same.

From , 21st July to 31st July, the bitcoin community will monitor how many miners deploy SegWit2x. If more than 80% deploy it consistently, then whole community will accept the same and the split of bitcoin will be avoided, at least for some time.

BUT, if a majority do not deploy the software by 31st July then a User Activated Soft Fork will happen. (For the readers who don’t understand soft fork - Soft fork is like adding a new feature to say, whatsapp. For Example - Adding a video calling feature in whatsapp)

On 1st August - If the above happens then, UASF will be deployed and developers/supporters will start checking if the bitcoin transactions are compliant with SegWit. If this works, then two versions of bitcoin’s blockchain could come into existence.

This will lead to massive volatility in the price.

So take a look at ETH, after hard fork it went skyrocket, so BTC?

This commotion happened the last time there was a fork.
