How easy is it to get shut down by a webhost?

So, I couldn't really find a better section for this, but basically I'm wondering how easy it is for a web-host to shut you down. I won't be doing anything illegal, the most I'll be doing is something against another company's ToS.

My only fear is that said company will contact the webhost and ask them to take the site down. I want something reputable and cheap, something with cpanel too so I don't have to mess with too much, was thinking of just going with a mainstream company first to see how it goes.

Being a webhost provider, I can tell you from experience it is super easy.

Web host can pull the plug anytime whether there is a billing dispute or a complaint against you.

if this is about Copyright issue then get an offshore hosting and its better to contact your hosting provider about their TOS / AUP about the content you want to host with them

Just get a hosting somewhere in russia. I personally use https://billengi.com/index.php?language=english (not an affiliate link). This hosting completely ignores DMCA and is pretty cheap, has cPanel, great customer support and all that.

Really depends on what you are doing. Most will send you a notice to either stop or fix the issue. if that is not done then they either suspend or terminate the account. Then there are other host that as soon as they get a notice your account is terminated.

If you are doing something that you are having to ask questions about then off shore hosting would be best.

It's nothing that could get me in legal trouble tbh, its actually tame as far as black hatting goes. It's legit just boosting/farming on multiplayer games, hosting/domain wasn't too much so it really wouldn't be a huge loss. I'm just wondering how hard it is for a company to call up another company and get the site taking down due to a ToS violation.

We don't care if you have break 3rd party company ToS.

As long you follow your offshore hosting ToS and there is NO Trademark Infringement

If you're just worried about accidental/rare issues, then you're probably fine.

But if you're planning to run a site based around copyright infringement, you're going to want offshore hosting that will ignore DMCA takedown requests. Note that depending on the jurisdiction in which you live, you may still be held legally responsible for copyright infringement, even if your webhost is willing to ignore the DMCA request. If they get a court order, they may still be able to:

• Get search engines to deindex your pages or your entire website (meaning it would basically be dead)

What if its simply ToS and not copyright? Essentially its just farming stuff in game for people. Been doing it privately, however wanted to expand with a website.

Also, your webhost can decide to take your site down for literally any reason even if you haven't done something wrong. They can stop doing business with you with no advance notice because they don't like your haircut. If a bunch of lawyers start sending your webhost numerous legally-dense threats, they'll probably take it down just because the amount of effort it would take to look into it is way more than what it's worth for them to get yearly hosting payments from you.

Would recommend offshore hosting that specifically advertises that they ignore DMCA takedown notices.

Depends if you host acknowledges DMCA requests.

You violate their terms, and you'll be the one to suffer in the long run.

Lawyers will bomb your host with requests, and in time, your host will want it to stop and eventually may take legal action, if they are in your jurisdiction. Please be careful...

It depends on the web host's terms of services which are provided to you while singing to them. If you will not follow those then your website would be disabled or you would be warned to remove such contents from your website.

If your site is having copy-write or copy-case issue that time also site will be disabled.

If your website is causing spamming on server that time some scripts are disabled by your web-host.

So it's totally depend on the type of policies your web-host has. If you will follow them then it would'n be the case.

If you choose a Offshore Hosting it will be hard to takedown, is not easy. And it depends on local laws.

I recommend you search for "Offshore Hosting Ignore DMCA" in Google, you have some good hostings that ignore DMCA.
