Cloaking + Amazon Affiliate = Ban? And is cloaking = cloaking?

Hy Guys, i had read today an article about a guy who got banned from Amazon affiliate because he had used cloaking and this is against AMA TOS. (digitalreadymarketing.com/amazon-affiliate-account-shut-recover).

Now my Question is cloaking = cloaking or is there a legit way to use it tos confirm?

A Guy wrote: "u will NOT get a penalty for cloaking links (cloaking = renaming the links to adapt to your domain name). Cloaking is completely legit. Read any TOS. Look at any affiliate site out there, big or small, there's hardly a single one not cloaking links. Using methods to force people into launching an affiliate link is a different story."

what u think about this? Also, i checked today a few big player. wirecutter.com who was sold for millions is using cloaking and they don't got banned within now

Cloaking is ALMOST always against the TOS. Explicitly. Even the pop networks that are viewed as more "lenient" have it in their TOS. Look at AdCash for example. As for Amazon, pretty much anything is against their TOS. Wirecutter appears to be using a re-direct for AMZ (which is also against the TOS) so idk what they are up to without looking deeper.

But on your website you created a say 301 from example.com/buynow to the above link. Then it is against their TOS.
My first account was banned for this.

Cloaking is completely legit. Read any TOS.

Cloaking is not "completely legit", it is often used for illegitimate reasons.
I did read Amazon's TOS, can't cloak their links.

I would not use anything except their own shortened links. No need to give them some excuse to ban your ass. Any cloaking is out of the question completely.

Do not cloak links, it is against their TOS, you can get yourself banned.

Using their own links will not harm your site in any way, so, logically there's no need for cloaking Amazon links.

I don't doubt Amazon are ballbags. They have become a behemoth company with more leverage than anyone right now. They set the rules and it all benefits them to the greatest possible amount. Just google 'amazon acquisitions' to see all they own now. Scary powerful.
