Hey fellow members.
As a newbie, I have been trying to find ways to better my SEO skills, with minimal costs of course. That got me thinking how most of these expensive (for some people) tools work. And I came to find out that they work on really simple methods. The hardest right now is scraping them from Google, that would involve using a free bot that is made by Supagrowth. They have a bot called "Search Engine Scraper".
Or get a list that was posted here on BHW, to recheck and know instantly which ones are still available.
I did recheck all of the @roki4ka posted Tumblr's, and surprisingly most of them are still available.
When using SES, in keywords just type in inurl:.tumblr.com/ "keyword"
And let it run. Using proxies will make it quicker, but if you don't have any, you can still scrape 10k urls in a short time. Then just export the results, copy them and paste them in a site that will trim them to root. You can make a quick google search, but I use THIS ONE.
Then run it thru another tool that would remove duplicates, like THIS ONE
Now you got a nice list of Tumblr links. How to check them if they are expired? Basically you need a website that would send requests to them and watch how they reply. If it's code 200, it's already taken. But when you see 404, that means it has been expired, and maybe is free to register again.
For that I use THIS SITE, it can do it quickly, but sadly only in batches of 100. But I have found that other tools, that are open to bigger batches will not work as good, because they sent too many requests to Tumblr. Export the ones that have CODE 404.
That is almost it. Now you just have to Moz check them. If you have just couple of links, do it manually. If you have a bigger list or your rechecking some posted lists use a website like THIS ONE, just fill in your Moz Free API code and your good to go.
Export all results and your done! You have found some nice expired WEB 2.0's.
DISCLIMER: This is only practical for starters, who don't need bunch of these links and are not okay with spending on expensive tools just to do some light work on their niche site.
