Do you have a problem with us brits or anything to do with our way of life, because so far all of your posts in this thread have been negative about everything British.

Don't get it twisted. I don't have a problem with British people.

I have a problem with humanity.

I am an equal opprotunity hater. I can say "negative" things about anyone from any country, including and especially Americans.

But if you can't find food from your homeland anywhere in the world except for your homeland, that should really tell you everything you need to know about it.

I'm not going to expound on my personal veiws. You're taking this too personally. If someone told me American food was gross I'd agree, bc overall it is very disgusting and extremely unhealthy.

Ever had Frito pie?

No one anywhere serves Frito pie. You know why?

Bc it's disgusting. Who makes a pie out of corn chips and canned chili?

Americans.

This is quickly turning into a hate thread, ok you hate the British and everything associated with it, get over it

No I don't. I actually enjoy British people.

If you feel like I'm hating on you for being British that's your problem. I just said your food was gross and you didn't invent certain things. My level of snark has nothing to do with how I feel about British people.

But since you're all getting so sensitive - a country full of people who insult everyone at every turn as casually as they breathe - I'll take my leave of this thread.

Tatty bai.

If you have a problem with humanity then maybe the problem lies closer to home AI. I'm certainly not taking anything personally.

Not having a go or anything but I have a son who sounds similar to you and he has a problem with anyone and anything that he personally doesn't agree with or believe is right. It's making him a very lonely person at the moment and he's only 18!

I do respect you as a contributor to this site and I like your style but putting the whole food debate aside for a minute, a lot of your posts lately seem to be a little aggressive, as if you're annoyed by everything.

Just a little tip from a forum friend, relax a little and "live & let live" because the alternative is to become extremely bitter and twisted.

Oh one last offensive remark just to finish with

@sturose, don't bother getting into an argument with her. She's a miserable middle-aged woman that has nothing better to do. Check her post history, it's kinda scary.

As for British food, I absolutely love it! You cannot beat teacakes and hot cross buns (most Americans I know don't even know what those are, let alone have they tried them)... And British back bacon is simply the best bacon IMHO. Also a good roast dinner with Yorkshire pudding is to die for. There's tons of British food I love and miss

@alwaysinvisible have you tried any British food? I only ask because, as you have pointed out, it doesn't seem to have travelled far afield.

This thread reminds me of a documentary I watched some time ago. An Italian chef who was living in England was so in love with British food and wanted to open a British restaurant in Italy so he could share his passion. He did so and it was a huge success, all the locals in Italy loved it. Goes to show it's usually just a lack of experience or arrogance that create stereotypes about something

Please don't tag me back into this discussion. As @Adlad said, I'm a miserable middle aged woman with nothing better to do. My scary post history proves that. So let the people here enjoy this thread while I go ruin someone else's day with my negativity since everything is annoying me lately.

Best food you can get in Germany. No kidding here. No irony.

Berlin has 15000 of those!

Let's be honest, British people don't even eat "British" food, other than the older generation who live off meat and two veg (extremely bland, they don't even season lol).

Wow, such a generalisation!

I'm British and I do and I season everything I cook. So does everyone else I know.

I'm also Britsh and Britsh people (specifically older generation) are known for cooking bland and seasonless food. They consider putting salt and perhaps a bit of pepper as being "exotic".

Ah well you're talking about a much older generation.

I on the other hand have a cupboard full of herbs and spices and I'm not afraid to use them!:D

How old are you? Most young people don't eat "British" food other than perhaps a Sunday dinner (which is terrible).

46 so not exactly young but I ain't dead yet!

I know what you mean though, my kids half the time won't eat anything unless it's got fries with it or it comes in a big flat box pre-cut into 8 portions!!

yeah, the generation gap is showing. I'm 24 and I would actually throw you in with the older generation I mentioned ;)

Lol, just kidding, but you only just missed out by a few years. I've noticed people your age start to use spices and seasonings because of the way the world has changed. T Travel and "diversity" has helped change your taste pallet for the better o_O

This thread went to shit.

I am not a fan of most British things. The food is bland and boring as fuck, as is the landscape from what I've seen. The television and movie humor tops out at Top Gear. The British accents make me want to stab myself in the face, no matter how attractive most of the world finds it.

Luckily there is one saving grace to British shit. All of you Brit fucks here on BHW make the lifestyle slightly more bearable. So thanks for that.

But no, your food sucks ass.

Sincerely,
A country with very few original foods.

What about James Bond?

You forgot him.
