I have 8.8k followers and I get between (800 - 2000) likes.

I'm mostly creating this thread because recently my organic growth has been extremely slow which is making me want to quit. I hope this thread motivates me to carry on.

I used the follow and unfollow method until I hit 4k, from which point I grew 100-150 followers organically (every day) so I stopped following and unfollowing people.

20th June 2017
I have 8,802 followers.

In 7 days I hope to have at least 8,900 followers.

My opinion is that you should not stop follow-unfollow method untill you hit 20-25k followers, I do not think your account is big enough for good organic growth.

I was planning on doing that but then I started gaining 150 followers organically. MY growth has stopped now so I'm going back to the follow/unfollow method.

I usually get 150 organic followers but for the last few days I've been gaining only 10 - 15 followers. I think it's because I don't post as often (due to exams).

Do you also like and comment on your followers profiles. This helps you get even more interaction from them. You have bots here on BHW which can help you do that.

UPDATE:

I found out that I was shadow banned so I kept losing followers (so I was not able to reach 8,900 followers by 27th June).

However, I am now out of the shadow ban. I currently have 9,045 followers (gained 200+ organic followers over two days).

I aim to have 9,350 followers in 7 days (by 14th July).

I found out I was shadow banned because my hashtags weren't working.

Follow/unfollow method leads to a shadow ban, especially if you're following and unfollowing a large number of people in a short time span.

How did you get out of the shadow ban?

Deactivated my account for a day

I completely forgot about this thread lol.

I had almost given up my account because Instagram's algo changes kept screwing with me.

But I still reluctantly posted everyday and now I have 11,999 followers. It took a long time but I'm growing this account as a side thing and it's minimal effort so I'm not too bothered.

I have 12,140 followers now.

This means I have gained 141 organic followers in exactly 7 days. That is 20 per day (roughly). I think that's pretty good considering that I just spend 5-30 minutes looking for something to upload and I only post once (maximum twice) a day - basically it's a minimal effort account with organic growth and a lot of activity (recently I've been getting between 400 - 10,000 likes, more commonly 450-600).

8 posts; lowest post has 521 likes; highest post has 77,296 likes.

Exam season coming up so growth may stagnant as I spend less time on social media.
