This is true. ICO tokens are only good when you bought it at the cent price. Since it's fastest to goes up and fastest to goes down.

Yes, and no. XRP has potential in reducing transfer fees and delays but, AFAIK, its future success depend on banks and financial institutions retiring their current wire transfer protocols and adopting XRP in its place.
Seeing how banks (e.g. JP Morgan) are so terrified of BTC, I can't imagine anyone successfully pitching XRP to a bank. Banks don't like change (no pun intended), that's why they still use decade(s) old technology.
In the end, if banks do not adopt XRP, the coin has virtually no value to me. But, by all means, if you see a real potential for it, hodl on - Padawan.
