I haven't promoted CJ offers with PPV yet but I would say it depends....
If you use a flash or gif banner from your merchant in the popup I would use a flash or banner link. If you direct link to the offer I would simply use the text link. I think it really doesn't matter as long as the link destination is the same page....who cares?
(and if the merchant doesn't allow PPV/adware traffic then you got a problem - whatever link you use ;) )

please help me guys with your experience , which link to use ?

You could use a text link, use "cloaking" in prosper and send the traffic with cleaned referer directly to cj. If they ask where the traffic comes from -> tell them you advertise in an email newsletter or something like this and send the traffic through your tracking system...

PPV and CJ generally do not mix. Their compliance department is all over most of the common PPV traffic sources. Search around and you'll see some pretty interesting threads about CJ and court cases with PPV traffic sources.

They also do not like blank referrers, and will question traffic they get with blank referrers.

Good luck.

your account will get banned and you will not get paid if you use ppv and cj.

if i use cparedirector who knows i am using ppv ?

if you want to use cparedirector with PPV, you'd have to tell Brad on what header information is being passed by the PPV networks so he could code CPA-R to fake all the information.

If you're driving PPV traffic to CJ you are breaking their terms of
service and if they find out they can terminate you and forfeit all
commissions. This is what's known as "forced clicks" and they
adamantly do not allow this. I speak from experience - you are on the
fine line of losing everything in your CJ account.

You will need to stop immediately and begin using a bridge/landing
page between the traffic and the offer. This way they won't see the
huge traffic volume. You will have 22,349 clicks, 20 impressions, and 18 conversions. Does that sound like PPC? Nah. However it also means you won't be dropping a
cookie on every visitor, which is exactly what CJ doesn't want you to
be doing as it's a "non user initiated click".

so what do you suggest me ? Create a landing page and drive traffic to it ?

dont drive traffic to aff. link directly , right ?

CJ would be able to tell. Im not sure how exactly, but they will. Some header information will be submitted through that lead, and the know all the footprints that the PPV netoworks leave behind.

I don't understand why Brad's CPA Redirector script wouldn't work.

If I have an adware app that's redirects the end user to the autoredirect link, but CJ only sees the landing page with my affiliate text link pointing to the CJ merchant, why wouldn't that work?

I was recently banned from CJ for doing something similar to this, including spoofing the referrer (using a similar thing as brad's CPA-r). It's very very easy to catch. here are some of the ways they know.

1. User agent - Many PPV companies append a custom user agent to all your traffic, this is a dead giveaway. and no matter what you do, you CANNOT blank/spoof this. It's created at the browser level, and no client side scripts have access to change it.

2. MediaTraffic (for example) forces their popups in I.E., regardless of what browser the user is actually using (this is retarded, if you ask me). So all your traffic will come from I.E. browsers. another giveaway

3. CJ and it's advertisers actively monitor for people bidding on their domain names with PPV. They have systems with Mediatraffic, Trafficvance, Zango, etc, software installed on them. If they load up their URL, and your affiliate link pops up. you're gone.

4. (this is how they caught me). When you use PPV, the user must load your "target" URL before the adware software can register that it needs to show your popup. Once it figures this out, and pops up your popup page, the URL is loaded again (this happens within a very short amount of time). So CJ can see this:

T = Time

@ T = 1 : user with IP XXXX loads the target URL (in this case, probably a CJ advertiser URL)
@ T = 2 : user with IP XXXX again loads the same URL, this time with an affilaite link attached.

the time between T1 and T2 is very short (< 1 second, most of the time).

This leaves a VERY noticeable footprint in their traffic logs. This was the one thing I didn't have covered, and they canned me for it.

Bottom line is, you can certainly try this, and you will probably get away with it for a while (I was doing it for well over 6 months before i got caught), but you will eventually get banned.

Great reply, LostShootingStar. Thanks for that!

Check out this scenario:

if you have your own adware that forwards the end user when they try to visit a site, wouldn't you be in the clear?

Here's what I mean:

End user installs the adware.

When they try to visit merchant.com, it doesn't even take them there. It takes them to my redirect page which automatically forwards them to myaffiliatelink.com. CJ only sees my landing page.

Does that sound like it'd work? See any holes in it?

Yes, this would work far better. But how are you going to get 10s of millions of people to install it? The existing PPV companies have the benefit of an enormous user base, and traffic is STILL pretty slow relative to something like PPC.
