[ANNOUNCEMENT] New WTB and HAF Rules

So, yeah, a PM is not permitted either as that is replying to the thread.

With all respect I think there is 1 thing worth considering.

Lets say JRvip or higher want to hire someone, he post in hire a freelancer section and he is looking for person who probably wont have paid subscription (for example cheap virtual assistant, someone for quick $5 work). Most people interested wont be able to respond according to new rules.

I think it would be good to allow JRvips something like premitted PMs from people interested in work but without paid member status. So for example JRvip have right to include in his HAF post something like "feel free to PM me if you are not paid member and you want to offer your service".

It would help JRvips run their business, outsource for cheap.

Most of us are here to make business, paid members should have right to hire/get services from non-paid members if thats their wish. Without this new rules may limit JRvip options to make business.

Just my 2 cents :)

What if we want to offer advice/ free help?

Maybe I know a way to do what they're doing for free, or they need someone to fix problem x, when I know it's problem Y that needs to be resolved?

how many would do the same? bhw is a business first - forum second
its here to make money for them as well as us, the fees on bhw are minimal
and reasonable , and if locking certain things away behind a vip accounts
cuts down a % of scams its a no brainer, weigh that up against constant
shit lists from newbie scammers , we might all do the same.

I made some research through BHW using the search tab, and there's always some Jr VIPs commenting and interested in VA jobs. There are also various VA BSTs in the marketplace which are considerably cheap, so I don't think this would be an issue at all.

You guys should probably monitor selling in the ebay forum too. Lots of scammers there. Example: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/looking-for-a-ebay-seller-account.945446/

If you want to offer advice to them, send them a PM.

You're good to go as long as you're not trying to sell via PM.

I deleted that thread right now.

The eBay and media buying sections are prone to those types of threads. I usually go through them when I can, though I haven't been doing it lately.

Sure jr vips are commenting on VA threads, but its not about it, its about limiting paid members options to hire someone.

Only paid members can reply to threads in HAF - less scams and thats big +
Paid members cant hire people without premium membership - well every law/rule that is putting limits on us without a solid reason is bad.

Jr. vips aren't limited to their hiring options.

There are plenty of jr vips who want to be hired and will post in the HAF section. There isn't a shortage of jr. vips on this forum. Or any other type of paid members.

Here's a fun little fact: If you try to post on other freelance sections of forums, including WF, you have to pay a fee. BHW isn't doing anything different.

Freelance websites don't even let you take jobs on their platforms without paying a percentage out of your paycheck. Guess what? If someone wants to accept a job on there they pay the fee.

If you want to reply to the WTB, HAF, wherever, you need to pay the $97. It's that simple. You can bitch and moan until you're blue in the face. It won't change a thing.

But good luck with that.

BHW is a forum first...

I'm one of the 3 incredibly lucky staff members to call BHW my job along with @Apricot and @WilhelmScream.

At no point ever have I ever been put under pressure to make a decision based on the income of BHW even though it literally pays my bills.

I've never had my judgement questioned, I've never been pressured into anything. Every call I've made has been my own.

When I see members say BHW is pay to play I laugh. Do you think I would give members like @Red Giant or @blackpayman733 a hard time if that was true...

Get real. This website needs the community behind it to survive. The advertisers or seller's or whatever can all be replaced. If someone dropped out of buying a banner people would replace them, 20 odd million users per month are more important than 1 advertiser or seller.

People say $$$ matters, but honestly as a man on the inside that rarely ever comes up. I love it.

Edit: I've been a user of BHW since 2010. Getting a job here has been a dream. I'm on your side when stuff like this comes up, to be honest even after a year here I don't think of myself as a mod. I'm still one of the boys.

Anyone can't afford $97 per year to run his/her business , isn't doing serious business actually , would you like to deal with non serious business ? !

So what you are literally saying is that if one don't pay or dosen't want to pay the fee they do not run a serious business? .. seriously..

You're eligible for Jr Vip - go ahead and buy it and then you can respond in those sections again and continue to make good money.

I perfectly understand the move. There are a lot of people who paid for their membership here. They should have the best chance of making money on this forum. And there are also those that uses that section to defraud members.

I'm just messing with you. :p

Good decision, it helps genuine people.

Hello everyone,

Today we have brought in new rules to the Hire a Freelance and Want to Buy forums.

These forums have been a bit of a pain to manage for a while, these changes are hopefully going to improve things for moderators and members. Hopefully restricting who can reply to these threads will mean there are less issues for us to manage between members in the Shit List forum and it also means the quality of members replying will be higher as lots of them will have been through the marketplace review process and already have Mod Approved Marketplace Threads.

The new 2017 Want to Buy rules:
https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/rules-posting-in-want-to-buy.951771/

The new 2017 Hire a Freelancer rules:
https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/rules-posting-in-hire-a-freelancer.951769/

Please read the new rules before continuing to use these forums.

In short, if you are not a paid up member of BHW (Premium Member, Jr VIP or Marketplace Seller) you will be unable to reply to threads in these sections. Most other rules remain the same.

If people start to PM you in response to threads in these sections it means they do not have the correct membership level to reply to your threads. You should ignore the users and report their PMs for spam.

Hopefully this is a move in the right direction for these forums for everyone.

Thanks

So what you are literally saying is that if one don't pay or dosen't want to pay the fee they do not run a serious business? .. seriously..

Read my post reply again , i said if someone want to sell service/product on BHW platform and can't pay $97 per year , he/she doesn't run serious business and looking for quick cash , because selling opportunity on BHW will make him/her $1k+ monthly if the service/product has any quality level ...

i never said ppl don't want to pay fee on BHW don't run serious business !!!

Aha, then I missed something in the translation... Anyway I can understand why such rules has to be applied and lets see wether the consequences become positive or negative :-)

I understand why this is needed. Less noise, fewer scams,
(+added bonus - more paid members)

Then why not remove this section altogether and move it to JR-VIP forum? And what's with JV section?

BUT..
I read shit list now and then, a lot of shitlists come from marketplace too. But you can't do this to the marketplace, can you? :p

I don't want to hate this place.
so..duck it. I'm out. I need a break from BHW. (back to Reddit i guess)

See you in few months.

Then why not remove this section altogether and move it to JR-VIP forum? And what's with JV section?
It wasn't moved to the Jr. VIP forum because yellow members are still allowed to create a thread in those sections, they just can't reply to HAF or WTB threads. In others words, they can still look for products and services, but they can't sell.

Anyway I can understand why such rules has to be applied and lets see wether the consequences become positive or negative :)

The reasons behind this update are well established by OP.

  1. This will reduce scams and shit list threads.
  2. HAF and WTB threads will now have higher quality replies with experienced and marketplace related members.
  3. Mods will now have fewer issues to manage.
I hope this clears it up for you.

Then why not remove this section altogether and move it to JR-VIP forum? And what's with JV section?
That's not really clever. Sure, Jr-VIPs do most of the stuff on these sections, but yellow members can still make a thread there, so why take that from them? Terrible idea in my opinion.

I read shit list now and then, a lot of shitlists come from marketplace too. But you can't do this to the marketplace, can you? :p

Do what? Jr-VIPs can sell and yellow members can buy, I don't really get what you're talking about.
