On other forums there was some discussion about how PBNs are working today. The final decision was that you should setup your pbn more carefully than ever (obviously). But not for passing a manual review but for passing some algorithmic filter that google introduced in the past months.

So, what could be the "footprints of a pbn" that google can filter algorithmically?
In this topic I am not talking about hosting, ip address, logging in, or outgoing links.
Just pure onsite tweaks.

For example,
I think, full posts on homepage is an obvious footprint. I have never seen a real site uses this kind of setup ever... Other ideas?

Date of setting up your Private Blogs should not be the same.
Write blogs as per your PBN theme - even for the same website.
Hosting server should be different.
Hide "Whois" information.
You might use home page and sub pages for your money site (as a variant) on your PBN.
Buy PBN domains with different extensions .com, .org, .net and so on.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,
Steve

Full homepage posts are one of the most overlooked footprints imo. Another one that I would call a footprint is overused Cloudflare hosting. Overusing Whois Privacy can be problem as well. Thin sites with only a few articles are pretty bad as well. Having "multiniche" site with 10 articles isn't anything amazing either. Overall, having multiple niches on same PBN domain is something I would surely avoid.

Yes I heard about those, Matt Diggity posted 1 which is to wait 36+ days on average after setting up a pbn to link out and said there's more of them.
My guess is it wouldn't be anything in appearance or making it look good and like a real site. It should be something that algorithm can figure out and decide if it's a pbn or not, so what comes to my mind:
Blocking crawlers
Full posts on homepage
Any possible footprint on domain side of things: nameservers, register, who is, dns etc.
Any possible footprint on hosting side of things

Try to think what people usually do when setting up a pbn and before linking out and what might be the problem

I have no problems using full post on homepage. 90% using the same platforms (Wordpress) but unique theme, permalink, plugins, etc. Been doing this for years.

do you change topic of domain?

Yes I do. General niche is what I've been built so far.
do you see anything weird after fred updated?my PBN seem to be useless.I tested them with some low competition kw but don't get mucj result.

Nope. I think it's more to your pbn's link profile. I have no problems ranking high competition keywords.

Such footprints will also include themes and plugins. So make sure to diversify it. You also need to block crawlers. Then avoid using Google products such as Analytics on your website.

OMG: the PBNdigittyguru himself and his 36 days "till you can stick it in" rule.

footprints:

dns.
mx
"same privacy email" with "whois protectoin"
SOA record.

oh. and the "crap" you "tierblast" to your expired domains (or your customers). thats what nukes them faster than "algo"

I agree with this opinion. I don't think the full text is a problem for google algorithm. I personally dislike when reading a topic and to see below (read more).

Do you wait before you link out? I started indexig the pbn with a article with no links out i then keep checking the indexed stuff by doing

site:mypbndomain.com, once the article is actually indexed and not only the homepage i post another article and linkout.

Nope. Why would you wait anyway? The domains are already aged and have established backlinks (expired domains, NOT deleted domains). It is the dripfeed that you need to pay attention. Let's say you build 10 PBNs, dripfeed the links for a week or so. This will look more natural.

So whats the difference isnt expired domains, dropped domains? I scrape domains lets say a company or an organization used to have a site like example.com then for like 1 year it hasnt been registered but links are still pointing to it. I then go on namecheap and register the domain

1.
No interlinking. You never see this on real blogs. They always link to other pieces of content on their sites. 99% of PBN's are not doing it.

2.
No formatting. Ugly posts with 1 outbound link. That's a common practice. Not just visually ugly but for bots as well. Formatting satisfies both users and bots because it's represented by additional HTML.

Things like:
- bold text
- italic text
- block quotes
- images
- YT embeds
- sub-heading (h2, h3, h4)

This footprint will match you with all other PBN users not just within your own.

3.
Drastically changing the topic of the site might trigger a flag. It's not exactly footprint but it's on-page.

It happened to me few times that after ignoring the previous topic the site was covering for years, Google started showing "This site may be hacked" message in the SERPs. It was impossible to get any link juice from these.

4.
Large number of 404s redirected to homepage.

5.
Full posts on the homepage like you mentioned but it's not actually about the format you choose. Excerpts might be the issues as well if you display 200 of them and they display links.

It's about word count and links ratio.

Then again, interlinking and authority out-linking breaks this and confuses the bot.

I'm using full posts on most sites without problem.

The difference is the domains age. If you can register them on another registar it's deleted domain.
