After few years of break I'm getting back to business. Just opened my GSA SER and CB and trying to get and idea of what are the most common captchas in 2017.

I know there is the new ReCaptcha noCaptcha - but those are not an images.

I get ~50% of ReCaptcha street signs

Few percent of SMF (Complex)

Few percent of Mollom

The rest seems random

To me it looks like Recaptcha is king. Maybe it's because I didn't load any url list and just run GSA SER on default settings? What are your results - please share :)

Common help me guys :) I want to write some captcha solving algorithms and need to know what is worth the effort.

Here are a few more captchas which I often see:

The only time I see anything besides the new "click ten images of pizza" type capchas is on government websites that haven't been updated since 1992.

Really? I see tons of those recaptchas with street sign in everyday Internet browsing. But that is not the point. Every place where you can drop links which are not removed is good and probably lots of those places are secured with a good old image captcha.

It really depends on the platform you target....

I start to hate rechaptcha because sometimes they show me 3-4 "click the signs" or "click the cars" before they allow me to go further!
And I am not talking about abusing. Just with my dynamic 24h IP....Recaptcha is going badly

If you guess them right, they never show you more than 2 sets at once. The most annoying type when you need to draw the outlines of a sign or something, that's when i hit skip and on the next try it's usually something different.

The sign pizza thing is so time consuming. Has it significantly increased costs for things like death by captcha?

You're all thinking of the click/select the sign. I was talking about the double street sign image which is the current captcha image shown on sites that still have recaptcha v1. Is it only me who still sees a lot of these? I'm guessing that a lot of sites which didn't upgrade to recaptcha v2/nocaptcha, are aged sites, may be abandoned/less moderated which makes them a perfect place to drop links. These sites are also probably not overspammed because Recaptcha V1 is still hard to crack by automated OCR. Don't know how many people still use GSA SER these days, but as I said in my first post recpatcha v1 is about 30-50% of all captchas in my default GSA SER setup.

To be clear, I'm talking about these:

Yea, me and the guy who i was replying to, were talking about the No CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA. I don't see the reCAPTCHA V1 at all anymore, but i don't do SEO, so there's that. You might be onto something with the statement, that this type mostly is used by abandoned/not updated sites nowadays.
