how paper wallets work ? and how to spend from it

hi all.
i have 2 questions.
1.how in hell does paper wallet work ?
if i do it offline no one knows the private key.so if nobody know the private key.is it really gonna work ?
i think the private key and public key have some connection between them made by some algorithm.
but in that case,all a hacker needs to do is find this algorithm and that's it.right ?
2.i tried a little test and send like 5 reddcoins to a paper wallet i did.
now i wanna see that i can spend them,how do i now return it to my bittrex account ?

You need a wallet where you can import your private key. You would then be able to send your balance from there as usual. I would guess you can do this with the standard wallet for redcoin.
