I didn't know how addicted to music I am.

Give me some artist recommendations. I'm into alt rock mainly.

Sherbert Hoover, I don't quite know genres. But I could list the artists, that I listen to to help me think and work. For example Unkle, Massive Attack, Trentemoller, Toydrum...

With music:

life time music addict here :-)
I used to study with music back in my college days. It's something i can't live without. It gets me calm/excited, in the zone while at work. I can focus on my work much better. I basically listen to music all the time. I also produce music. The day i loose my hearing... i'm done

Fuck, so this is a real problem. I am too in the exact same situation and I don't know how to treat it. I watch udemy courses and since they are in video format I have to stop the music to listen to the explications. I quickly get bored right after I start and get nothing done :|

I'm the complete opposite: I love music as well, but I never listen to anything when coding / working. Especially when there are vocals in it, I can hardly concentrate (Ambient stuff is usually fine).

I spend like an hour a day looking for new music lol. I use soundcloud and have like 2k songs in my playlist already.

Yah, it is not like something that can cause health problem or anything like other addictions. But I just wanted to see if I can do this.

Of course you can do it. Don't look at it as an addiction, look at it as a habit. If you enjoy it, keep it. I'm pretty sure there is another habit you'd rather spend time developing.

Otherwise it would be cool to test & exercise your willpower.

It was more than a habit actually. It was at a point, where don't enjoy music like I used to, I just wanted it to function well. U get what I'm saying.?
But agree. Trying developing a habit of reading books these days.
