Best Google Adsense Alternatives in 2017

Hi all, I would like to know what are the best Google Adsense alternatives in 2017. I've actually searched around on this site and I've seen some like Amazon Affiliates being brought up but I thought I'll post a new thread to get an idea since I have been out of the affiliate marketing scene for a while. I used to run Google Adsense on my old website 9 years ago and I made up to $5,500 USD at one stage, and my account was banned because one of my forum members stupidly created a thread to encourage everyone to click on the ads so we get more revenue lmao. That was a pretty huge set-back for me back then as I was just 16 years old and $5,500 was a lot to me!

Fast forward, I'm now running an expat Thailand news media/magazine website and I'm getting approximately 800 to 1,000 hits a day and they are mostly tourists/expats or even locals who are searching for the top 10 cafes in bangkok, best night market, everything you should know about khao san road, best tattoo in bangkok etc you get the idea? Basically, travel/lifestyle hacks in Thailand things that people search in Thailand. The only affiliate I have on my website at the moment is a Thailand dating website called Thai Friendly (its basically like the Tinder of Thailand) which earns me about $100 to $200 a month. On a good month, I can earn up to $900 but it's very tough now as they change their affiliate programme policy whereby I only get paid when someone paid for a membership on their website and their membership is pretty expensive.

Therefore, I'm now looking at an affiliate programme/publisher where I can get paid per ad, rather than a lead conversion. Due to my bad experience with Google Adsense, I'm trying to steer away from them so I would like to ask for the best Google Adsense alternatives. My site also has quite a number of visitors who search for sexual related content like "how to hook up with a thai girl?", "thai bar girls prices" so Google Adsense might not be advisable as I understand that they are a big no-no on adult content.


Here's my traffic since the start of the year

And here's my top demographic of countries. I get up visitors from over 50 countries a day visiting my site and after Thailand, I actually get quite a number of American and European audience so any advice on the best Google Adsense alternatives or basically any good affiliate publisher to capitalize on my traffic would be great.

What do you mean by alternative? Display ad network or just any network to replace adsense...?
You can try any other network.
I think Taboola for your geos should do good.

Perhaps I worded it wrongly apologies. Perhaps affiliate marketing isn't the term to use for this but rather any display ad or just any networks to replace Google Adsense. I've not heard of Taboola, let me look it up.
Personally, what's the best Google Adsense alternatives you've used and is it comparable to Adsense?

No such thing as best alternative as every ad network will perform differently on each site.
If there would be one best network - everyone would you use it and others would close.
There's bunch of great networks, but each has own specifics, so you want to see what is being offered and try few networks, compare your results and define which one is best for you.

Just checking if its possible to still use Google Adsense for my site but somehow prevent/block ads from being shown on the pages which have sexual content? Because a lot of the other content are travel/lifestyle/current affairs.

You can get easily banned with AdSense for having a legit site, sexual content is something you don't want AdSense to know about.
There's a bunch of networks that would be fine with this kind of content though. Even if you will put AdSense back I strongly suggest using few networks so you can monetize the same user through a few networks, therefore, increasing your revenue.

Thanks, that's what I will do. Google adsense is like a ticking time-bomb for me so I'm not gonna put all my eggs into one basket, I'm mentally prepared I will get banned by Google so will definitely use other networks but the whole set-up, interface and potential high ceiling of Google adsense is what makes it the benchmark, I'd need more time to research into other networks.

There are really a lot of networks nowadays, and it's hard to get lost choosing the proper one. Firstly check with each network your target GEO whether they can cover it. I comfortably work with Adsense and MGID. They are focusing a lot on South-East Asia and Latin America, I'm sure they can make you a nice offer.

Is it possible to use a few network with Google Adsense? I mean there is no policy issue with this right ?

Media net is good choice...

For specific traffic revenue hits may give good results also. Try content.ad too. Combo 1-2 with infolinks?

Rev content and outbrain but you won't get approved most likely.

If you want to promote your network use the proper channels, spamming isn't the answer.

I don't think you need an alternative, but you need to add another monetization method to your site, try outbrain
