Evening Ladies and Gents,

So to Spin or Not to Spin is the question?

I've a London based cleaning website, which as it stands has some pretty good links, though only ranks in one Town in the city.

Looking through a few of the competitors sites, it appears they've literally created domain.co.uk/london/town
Then using the same content / spun content to create new pages targeting each town / area / long tail throughout the city.

So my question is, should I create one new page, spin it using WordAi, retain the keywords and create the 18 pages to individually target each town? Then proof read, check over and alter as necessary.

As currently the site only ranks top 10 for 2 search terms, and the competition is non existent.

Or, write 20 pages individual pages, all targeting keyword location ie cleaning acton, etc? The latter just seems laborious, when the content targeting each search is pretty much the same.

Unless... You've another solution?

Open all ears.

I would spin all the way :)

Write one really good article, and then manually rewrite it to be spintax format so you can produce plenty of variations targetting every district in London and each of the keyword services the company provides, eg: window cleaners acton, residential cleaning acton, commercial cleaning acton, windows cleaners soho, etc etc.

One article per service per area..... which is why you should spend time really nailing that initial article and spintax.

I completely disagree ,so would a real seo expert , spun content is no good and a reason google has done all there new updates , you need unique content to get anywere on the .net For seo work.

What you said and i understand your doing local seo , this means you are targeting local area with your website.

The best way to do local seo is to mention the post code of the area in the title and the town and the niche , it also very important you also do market research for that keyword in that area ,
You need to include in the article subjects of interest in that area.
Everythink needs to be unique as boaring as it sounds ...

Spun content will never index like unique content infact spun content can brake / bankrupt a whole business .

If you dont understand seo atleast get the articles from a pro so the website get a chance to index locally properly.

Good luck god bless

I made sites using the same technique you mentioned. Almost all the pages had same content with only different keywords. Most of them lasted a few months however a few of them are still going strong - Around 10 months so far I think. I used WordAI to add few sentences of spun content on each page to make them a little bit unique.

Have you ever tried using spintax redarrow? I'm not being a dick, just that I often see spintax being written off when all I've seen to date is excellent results.

I have clients ranking page 1 on Google for over 1000 "keyword + town" combinations, usually at #1, and we've been spinning content for over 4 years directly on the money sites. Like I said, a well written spintax is key :) I'm not talking about the garbage produced using free online spinners, it can take me days to manually write one spintax article of just 500 words, but that will produce 2000 articles which keep the blog fresh for the next 6 months.

My articles read like an actual article in spite of every word, sentence, paragraph being spun.

I use Wordpress mainly and we drip-feed the articles out through scheduling, and then we refresh the articles slightly by dropping or adding a sentence or two every 30-60 days automatically.

Using Spintax means I don't need to piss about dealing with PBNs, social media, building backlinks, and all that other garbage. We get #1 for tons of long tail keywords, and each of those produces 10-100 hits per month..... which all adds up when targetting so many keywords.

But you're right that Google will ban us one day, they definitely will, but it's the only way to really compete nowadays since we can't really compete for the main keywords due to much bigger fish in the industries :( Until that day comes me and my clients are riding the Spintax train and banking money :D

Thank you all for your input, whilst I see RedArrow's point would decent spun content, manually proof read and edited to the flow is retained and content still delivers value to the customer not suit?

And Orkney that's roughly the idea, though targeting multiple related keywords on one page, whilst kind of silo'ing the content. Thus targeting around 300 searches a page.

Finally umerjutt00, you make a good point for unique content, this isn't a churn and burn site, and need long term rankings.

There's a total of 20 pages that'll be created, though the main reason I ask, is one of the site's biggest competitors is doing exactly this. And cheers for the Town / Postcode Idea.

For the interim I've my writer putting together an article for one location, once delivered I'll take a look and go from there.

Thanks all.

From this video, we can learn that high-quality spinning is very effective. From the scars on his hand, we see that he put a lot of effort. Manual spinning aka rewriting may be a little faster than making a new article and is the most effective of all spinning methods.

Depends on your aim with the website. If you are targeting ranking for a long time to come, then use original humanly readable articles but if you want to practise churn and burn, then go ahead.

Just Spin it. It doesn't matter much in local SEO. I have a friend who spun 139 pages out of 155 and hasn't been penalized by google and is still ranking today.

If you want to have that website to rank for a long time then don't spin but if you don't and want to just rank it fast and not stay on top of google for a while then just spin content. That's my suggestion.

I would not spin for that case. Spinning works if you are building tier 2 properties. In your case just hire a writer to rewrite the content manually.
