Hey guys,

I have a spanish website in spanish and I notice that some of my competitors that rank really good have the following meta tags that I don't have:

<meta name="copyright" content="www.mysite.com" /><meta name="content-language" content="es" />
<meta name="distribution" content="global" />
<meta name="revisit" content="7 days" />
<meta name="googlebot" content="index,follow,all" />
<meta name="robots" content="index,follow,all" />
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<meta name="geo.country" content="ES" />
<meta name="geo.placename" content="Madrid" />
<meta name="DC.Title" content="My website title" />
<meta lang="es" name="DC.description" content="My website description" />
<meta name="geo.region" content="ES" />
<meta name="geo.position" content="40.463557;-3.77822" />
<meta name="ICBM" content="40.478667, -3.78822" />
<meta name="DC.Language" content="es" />
<meta name="DC.Creator" content="http://www.mywebsite.com" />
<meta name="language" content="es" />
<meta lang="es" name="description" content="My website description" />

Can someone tell me what if Google really cares about them, or if should care about them, since I only got the basics one title, descripcion and keywods, and this are competitors that rank really good.

Thanks

<meta name="revisit" content="7 days" />
<meta name="googlebot" content="index,follow,all" />
<meta name="robots" content="index,follow,all" />

these could help...

the others i don't think will help with anything..

well, i think G recognizes what language is your site without the need to look at a meta definition... so i don't think a language definition would increase anything about ranking

Google doesn't really pay much attention to meta tags anymore, I wouldn't get too wound up about them, focus on content and backlinks and Google will treat you fine. If you are doing all those meta tags you may as well do the Facebook opengraph (og) etc. All those meta tags wont particularly help with the serps though.

can revisit after meta tag cause site indexing problem?

Hey code,
You can follow this

can revisit after meta tag cause site indexing problem?
Couldnt understand what you wrote but this is a 4 year old thread and you dug it up to ask something incomprehensible :rolleyes:

all right, does this meta tag tell google when to crawl the site and index it in search results?

Meta tags are no more useful , Official google update says they dont pay attention to meta tags now. So you dont need to worried.

Google no longer cares about the meta tag, However a good meta description can increase your CTR though
