If you have all that money as you say, go get yourself a fucking lawyer. This aint no legal forum and even if there were laywers here, I doubt they would give "legal" advice on a public forum.

I'm providing this simply because I don't know if you're in the US and what the stipulations of the contract were. If this was a work for hire agreement, then the company that hired you may legally own the content you published. This may give them legal recourse if you pull the work.

LEGALLY, it`s not a problem of what it is written in the contract, but rather what isn`t written. If it isn`t written in the contract that the links are temporary or paid monthly, then the contract can only state that you will be paid for the work done. You have done the work, you have been paid. LEGALLY, someone that builds a house won't be able to take the bricks out of the house and build a Mcdonalds with them just because the previous client stopped paying.
 
Without going into detail what could happen to your biz reputation should this person take your 'offer' public - social media, rip off report etc what it comes down to is what your agreement with your client was for.

If your service was for links, then moving those links to anther person leaves you open to being sued for breach.

If your service was for a potential SERP increase, removing those links could (very likely would) affect any increase you gave him - which leaves you open to being sued for breach.

If you've got other contracts - let this one go. Move forward and not look back. You have much more to lose here than you are likely to gain.

My .02 worth - feel free to take the suggestion or not. Your biz, your choice.

While you were creating the links, did you get paid? Did you charge for the time it took you to push out 300 links?
 
You have to tell them as a consultant! And that's how it gives an insight into in to it and it will be more of professional kind of stuff!

If your Client had the brains to understand SEO and Backlinks, There would be no need for them to hire you as there consultant. It seems like the contract is over but your Greed Isn't. So be a a good guy and respect the money you already took from him. This is not how to Build a relationship with the client. Unless You really want to scam him.. Choice is yours :)
 
I mean think about it, if someone paid you $100 to put flyers up for their business around town, would you go around and take every single one down if you don't keep paying you $100 dollars? That's just a dick move. From reading your posts it seems like you really have your head up your ass and you really don't value any of the feedback you're receiving but that's your karma. Next time you go out to your car and someone fucked it up at least you'll know why it happened. Enjoy your life man I'm just glad I don't have to wake up and see someone like you in the mirror every morning.

Eh, sometimes.

I've run into people who have been burned by shoddy SEOs and web designers who place less of a value on the work. As a result, they set their budgets unreasonably low and aren't willing to work with you because they read some article telling them that they need to "take charge, be assertive" when hiring freelancers.

On the other hand, the situation with one of my first (and still current) clients is like what you described. The client got burned by some crappy web designer who made her a website using an unmodified free WordPress theme for $5,000 and was getting paid $500/month to maintain the website, but never lifted a finger and the site got hacked due to neglect (among other reasons). Something funny is that this client actually didn't place much of a value of web work when she first hired me (due to the aforementioned incident). However, that opinion quickly changed after she had begun receiving new clients from the site and numerous compliments from other professionals in her industry.
 
I don't think that this is a good idea.
