Well maybe not that new, people are probably using this but it seams that it should be completely legitimate.
So if you have a forum you can simple open up a new board, restrict it from everyone and just paste a bunch of articles that are associated with your keywords.

Anyone wanna comment?

Why have a forum that nobody can join?
They are kinda meant for social interaction right?

If your looking at it from an SEO standpoint then I can
see what your saying, but blogging is just as or maybe
even more effective. In this instance since there would be no
social interaction regarding the content, I do not see how it would
sustain from becoming somewhat static. Maybe not totally, but definetly
more likely since there is no automatic way to update the content
already posted.

End Result. More work than you probably want to deal with.

People do it. Set it up, scrape other places for post, plaster your own links all over. I think it was recently mentioned on syndk8.

If the thread or forum is inaccessible, what's the point? It won't get spidered. You can't sell anything on it. No one but you will see ads.

For this purpose, try a Squidoo lens, a Hubpage or a blog. Much easier to optimise.

If the forum is inaccessible--as you described above--the spiders won't come. If the spiders don't come, you won't get indexed. If you don't get indexed, you are invisible. In other words, NO SEARCH RESULTS. None. Zilch. Nada.

I hope I'm making some sense here. It seems that you don't quite get how the SE's operate at the most basic level. Do some research on basic SEO.

well lets say its not accessible to the people that do not have certain amount of posts, like in here, you cant download something unless you have 15 posts. I can see the board because I am admin, and others can see the board if they have 5000 posts or so. Is that any different?

If you're looking into SEO--in otherwords getting better positions on SERPs--no. If spiders cannot crawl your restricted page, the page can't be ranked or indexed.

How is the Google Spider going to qualify for 15 posts to access your content? Anything restricted with authentication or post count will not be exposed to SE's. Only publicly-accessible pages and content have legs in the SE's.

All that said, there may be good ways to break the "rules", but unless you understand the most basic tenets of SEO practices how can you expect to know enough to exploit them?

For now, there's no reason to make this more complicated than it is. If you want to post content and get indexed with it, create simple blog or content site.

I know this isn't what you wanted to hear.

what cobo is saying would work if it were cloaked, so the search engines can spider it, but have it cloaked so if any human visitor come to it, it will redirect them somewhere else, like one of your affiliate pages or one of your adsense pages. this is how i work it work it, though i use it on blogs, not on forums. as others have said, its no different than using a blog instead of a forum, and the blog is easier to manage. and they will also probably get indexed easier to boot.
