If I choose redirect at first until I can build a site is this a footprint connecting the sites later on ?

I guess I might mention that the site I am looking to 301 redirect was an expired domain I picked up last week. the domain isnt totally related to my money site but was legit and has been around since early internet days [1996] with 162,000 backlinks from reputable sites, no spam of any kind , w/ 16TF 21CF I want to pass the juice along the best I can. What do ya think?

Probably okay - in my experience you're going to get more bang for your buck by just building out the PBN instead of 301ing

162 000 backlinks, no spam of any kind? :) Unless you paid good $1K+ or at least a few hundred, then I really doubt there is not spam of any kind. RD is the most important metric here, the ones you have mentioned do not tell anything basically.

Also, unless the domain you want to 301 redirect is super relevant to your main domain, then do not bother with any redirects. Build the PBN out of it. It's always a better solution than 301.

thanks Nargil.. yes, I paid a good chunk for this .. and another. I wrote you an email to your gmail asking for assistance in this transition, if possible a paid mentor ship ... you know your stuff.. I am just beginning and trying keep value of these during the transition. did you get my email ? this one above is just one domain I picked up recently. I had another that had MUCH more. [ EB 9,309,339 RD: 5,560 TF 30 CF42 ] <---- and yes, I paid thousands for that.

Im a new member so I cannot PM or ad links yet

Coaching is forbidden here on BHW and I do not really have time for that I am afraid. :)

No OP it will not be a footprint. I have lots of 301 redirects which after few months i setup sites on those domains and linked them.

thank you very much for answering that straight up for me.

Thats understandable, Nargil, Thank you. I was not aware of that rule and there is a lot of help given in the forum so I only wanted to expand on that a little deeper. My bad. Did you get the email I sent you to your gmail? it wasnt coaching.. I called it mentor ship for lack of better words. I was wanting to pay you for your knowledge and skill. A service to help transition this new domain I acquired.

Don't do it. Either one or the other.

really? thats what I was kind of afraid of.. ATV, you think there is a print at that point? Either 301 and leave it that... or put a site on and do that..

I shouldnt do 301 and then build out later ?

Well that's exactly what's forbidden. Feel free to send me some questions via PM if you want, I may answer them once I have time. Just came home after 9 hour drive and will be leaving in a few days again for Expo, so just leave me a message.

Redirects are awful in 2017. They used to work well, but it's a waste of money now.

If you are going to do it, then you MUST have a domain that's highly relevant. This is absolutely essential for redirects.

thanks Nargil, I'd have PM'd ya long ago if I could, new member restrictions and Im not seeing it as an option to PM still. If you can PM me I will reply

OK, thanks.. it makes sense. neither site is highly relevant in the name.. just moderately the same general industry. so I think I am going to just have to build it up. both sites. This PBN stuff to do it right is a lot of work. If these sites werent so damn strong I wouldnt even bother and would just put the time and effort into the money site and go the organic content route.

my biggest problem is that one of the expired domains is losing thousands of links, daily.. as soon as I transition it to my account I need to build out the pages that have the most pegged to them.
