I swear I'm not trying to troll this thread

(to put this in the proper frame of reference this is coming from the person who hired a part-time VA who PayPal was only paying $1.50/hr and paid him 8.50 because I was more than minimum wage where I lived and heated more than a minimum quality job and therefore was only fair and that's how I think)

but why would you guys sell yourself short like that? assuming you actually have those skills as developer and an SEO why on Earth would you accept that and not think of it as anything less than insulting - you could easily make a lot more than that on the freelancing sites and even more yet generating an income utilizing those and very same skills

I have yet to meet, for example, someone who is even mediocre - let alone good at SEO who can't generate a f*ck of a lot more than $2 an hour thru CPA offers, affiliate marketing, AdSense infolinks Chitika etc. (Any one of those alone, let alone a combination of them) .

OP although it may appear the opposite to you at the moment, my intention is not to derail your recruitment efforts but the Birkenstock wearing hippie inside me can't help but speak up at the moment as frankly what you are proposing sounds borderline slavery esque... I'm talking borderline chained to a desk for 16 hours a day to earn a bowl of rice and a half an ounce of meat for substanance type scenario

Put yourself in the position of the person you're trying to hire for just a moment... let's say you were a developer - that's not an easy skill- you spent many many hours unpaid working really hard to learn and truly hone that skill... it was an investment and a fulfilling one because now you have a skill that less than 5% of the. World population have, and yet 95% of people in the world's lives are in enriched by in one manner or another on a regular basis... after working that long and that hard to get that skill down as an investment in yourself in your future to live a better quality of life by virtue of a skill and likely for to provide for your family only to be offered $3 an hour

$3 per hr for someone else to enjoy all of the benefits and Rewards of your multiple years of Blood Sweat and Tears. Would you consider that by any stretch to be reasonable?

Scenarios like this one are exactly why malware and viruses exist - software, web programming, marketing and knowledge of algorithms are the very things that allow your income stream (mine as well) to exist to begin with, it would behoove us to respect those things and the people who make them possible by at least treating them like humans, or more ideally treating them as well as we would like to be treated if the shoe were on the other foot... just had to put my two cents in there
