Yes, I know that. I am breaking my head to find a good reason for this happening. Maybe they are making noise as you said.Still can't understand why do they do it. A/B testing is so basic for everything we do online.
Hello,
TF has absolutely nothing to do with Google and they take no notice of it.
Thanks
Those are basically the only ones that matter. No follow doesn't give link juice to your site, or so says Google. However, having link diversity is still important so it looks natural
wrong
Keep in mind that if a site does benefit from a link, Google will first lower the site's ranking for a period, then they pause, then later (weeks/a month) it ranks the site where it would be. So if a site falls on the serps right after you get a new link, don't dispair, it's not necessarily a bad signal.
It's part of their algorithm to insert noise and to make it harder to do A/B testing. Someone here has referenced their patent on this and where someone explains it, but I never remember where.
I mean it's also a good way to see if someone is a dodgy cunt or not...
Rankings drops and then suddenly this url gets hundreds of links, complete overhaul of content and full of stuffed keywords. Hmmm, i wonder if this person is trying to game google!
That's exactly right. Also those who freak out during a dance and disavow all their links, it's like telling Google please ban me I put those links there.
wait. werent you supposed to change all anchors in panic after the first serp fluctuation?
Why do you think people spend hundreds and sometimes thousands on Wikipedia links? Just because of diversity? Sure, nofollow links may not transfer what we refer to as "link juice", but with Google's eternal love for authorities, brands and trustworthy websites, having a link on a site like Wikipedia certainly isn't simply ignored by Google.explain?

It's a made up number by a third party company.
Thanks
