I have noticed on one of my site, that no matter what I do about link building, nothing happens at all.
My site is 4yrs old and RD250. That means, its quite a powerful site in my niche. Every backlink, and pbn is indexed.

I didnt do anything like, gsa or forum links etc. My anchor text diversity is good, used a lot of brand and url anchors. My onsite is not overoptimized as i can see. I am blogging with unique content too.

In 2016 November, my site started to fall like crazy from #1-2, to #6-7, and worse.
For the last 3 months. I was trying to get myself up back in serp.
I have made several press release. I earned about 20 natural links from high authority sites (sites in my country like Huffpost etc), created my own 20 domain pbn with a lot of content and decent metrics. Linked carefully with brand and url anchors.

After 3 months nothing happening. Nothing noticeable positive movement.
Any thoughts, whats causing this behaviour?

Your site can drop not only because google punish you but also because the competition increases their power, from what I saw authority site have a big advantage over the niche site that can explain why you drop if you have a niche site

Most of the time press release are from low-quality site and the links are no follow, did you buy a magic $127 package link from the marketplace?

I have updated the post with a chart, if it rings a bell...

it would also depend on some of the old links, I had an old site that had 275 links removed last July/August over a 2 week period.

What type of site is it? Bricks & Mortar, affilaiae, or what ?

Competitors didnt do anything, but crappy pbn links regarding to ahrefs.

I have made the press release myself. My girlfriend works at a real PR-company. So I got the awesome PR magic for free.

@MisterF He's a spammer. Reported.

Wasn't in november the penguin update? Anyway, no matter how many links you've built, you didn't actually addressed the real problem. If you was #1-2, and then you've suddenly fallen 4-5 pos, then it's very likely a hit and not competition overtake.

Don't expect for somebody to figure out for yourself though, this is something that only you can find out.

Ecommerce site.
I am checking ahrefs daily. Nothing like this happened.

You have to concentrate on your competitor's strategies as well. From your chart, it is clearly visible it is Dancing in ranking because of your competitors SEO strategies.

Backlinks will help to improve ranking mate. Get links from niche relevant domains.
You have to update your site frequently with good quality of content.

First page is different. CTR plays big role on positions #1- #3 (or maybe from 1# to 10#). And so do branded searches, and bounce rate, session average time, page load time, other stuff. apart from that theres onpage. maybe your competitor has backlinks that have traffic?

i mentioned a lot of things u probably have only link juice

That great but if the links are no follow it will not helping you directly to increase your power, if you have more links from better sites than your competitor and visitors stay more time on your site it's probably the kind of sandbox who coming from a red flag after you buy low quality links package from the marketplace or low PublicBN links, it's what happen every time with customers here, they buy lots of things the rank go to page 2 so they thing it's easy win and buy more and more but stick page 2 forever because google know from the first package the links are not natural with lot of footprints

1)Op, How many backlinks you created for your homepage?
2)What is keyword ratio?(1, 2, 3 words)
3)Did you created backlinks so quickly? Like within 1 hour 10-15 do follow links?
4)How many page you have?
5)What is bounce rate? (% & time).
6) Interliking with only keyword?
7) Your domain name has only keyword?

90% of the links are do-follow.
Havent bought any package here.
The competitors them are beating me have the same type of pbn links from the same seo-company.

Checked everything in ahrefs. Studied them in every way.
Thats why I have no idea whats happening.
